Kay's P.O.V.

My kids are my world. I dont know what I would do without them. Now that King is locked up they're all I can depend on to keep me sane and from going crazy.

We were all sitting in my living room just having normal family time. Me and my babies Camaro, Kamari, and Karma. I was trying to teach the boys how to play uno whike Karma sat off to the side playing with her rattlers and baby toys.

The boys werent playing the game right at all, all they were doing were matching colors. Mari kept accusing Maro of cheating and they kept arguing and getting loud so we had to stop playing.

We ended up eating junk food and watching my favorite kid movie, The Lion King. Mari and Maro could barely sit still from all the cake and candy they were eating. We had cupcakes, cookies, juice and popcorn. I usually dont let them eat this much junk food at once but i didnt mind today. I just wanted to have quality time with my kids.

I looked down at my baby girl Karma in my hands and laughed as she stuffed her face into the icing of the cupcake i was feeding her. I swear all she did was eat. The boys were singing along loudly and dancing to the song Hakuna Matata.

Then they argued about who was gonna be king if the jungle like Simba and who was gonna be Mufasa. They were something else. About midway into the movie, the boys were out cold. Snoring loudly. Kamari was stretched out across the floor on his back while, Camaro was nearly falling off of the couch. Karma was still wide awake chewing on her little fingers and trying to grab everything in site.

It was going on 8 and even though it was early i was getting sleepy myself. I missed King so much. Even though there were three kids here, the house seemes quieter without him. As i was slowly drifting off to sleep there was A knock at the door.

I contemplated on if I should answer or not because I wasnt expecting anyone to come over. I decided not to, but then the knocking became louder. I stood up and placed Karma in her Seat and then slowly walked over to the door.

"Yes are you misses... Kayla Smith?"

The man in a suit asked me. He didnt look like a police officer so I didnt understand why he was here.

"Yes and you are?"

"I am Robert from the chile care services. Because you were just recently arrested for child kidnapping we are going to have to take your kids into foster care until you can prove that youre not guilty."

"What? Clearly im not guilty if im in my house right not and not in a jail cell."

"Indeed yoy are right. However, because your kids father turned hinself in for the kidnapping of a young boy by the name of Camaro Miles it only made matters worse now both you and your kids father are under investigation and we have to take them in until a responsible family member comes to get them or until you both can prove youre not guilty."

"What?! No! You're not taking my damn kids! I didnt kidnap anybody, his mother died and im his fucking godmother! He doesnt even have any other family." I yelled to the man.

"Yes he does, he has a grandmother by the name of Vivian Miles. She says she's been looking for him for months." He then turned and gestured towards the car he got out off.

Then a woman stepped out. I had never seen her a day in my life. But i couldnt lie like she wasnt Candy's mom. They looked just alike. I spent months with Candy in Atlanta and I never seen her mother. She was older than me, but she didnt look as if she was old enough to be a granmother. She looked like she was in her early forties.

She looked at me like I was the nastiest thing she had ever seen. "Where is my grand baby?"

I looked at her like she had lost her got damn mind. How could she be so low down? She never wanted to be in this child's life until he became apart of mine. She was tearing my family apart.

Because of my loud talking with the man in the suit the boys woke up and were now watching us from the couch.

"Ma'am, please don't make us call the authorities to physically remove the children from you."

"I don't care if you call President Barack Obama to this front door, my kids are not leaving!"

I felt as The boys crept up behind me and peeked there heads out of the door. "Mommy my stomach hurts." Camaro whined.

"Camaro! Hey baby. it's me Grandma Jessie. Come here I misse you!" the lady said once she noticed Camaro behind me.

Camaro didn't speak or move. He just sat there staring at her. He then looked back up at me and scooted closer to my leg, wrapping his arm around it.

"Ma'am look its getting late, just give us the kids and find a responsible adult to come get them. Until then they have to go and stay with us."

I bit my tongue to refrain from cursing him out. I didn't want to cause a scene in front of the kids. I took a deep breath and turned around to face the kids.

"Babies, listen. This nice man here is going to take you with him. But not for long. Be good boys to him and I'll take you all to Monkey Joes, okay?"

They looked at me and nodded their heads. Because they were half asleep they didn't ask any questions. I knew they had learned to trust me and knew i was always going to come back for them. I leaned in and kissed them on their cheeks.

As they were walking out I heard the faint cries of my baby girl. I then began to tear up. I nearly forgot about her. I wasn't about to let them take her away from me, she was too young! I looked into the man's eyes and pleaded as much as I could.

"Ma'am in sorry but I have to do my job. "

I then began to let my tears flow freely. I was so sick and tired of crying. I pressed my back against the wall and cried. Just as he was taking my baby girl out of the door in her carseat, a car pulled up in my yard.

"What is going on here?" I instantly recognized the voice. But I was still to shaken up to gather myself to stop crying. I listened as the man explained to her what was going on.

"Well there will be no need for any of this. I'm Darion's mother Carrie. Therefor I am the biological grandmother of these kids and I am responsible enough for them to be admitted into my care until the case is resolved with their parents."

This woman was a life saver. I was gonna go crazy knowing I had just given my kids to strangers. She then came Into the house and helped me up from the floor. She looked at me and gave me a loving smile. I put my had on her shoulder and continued to cry.

I watched as the man made a few phone calls and then it was set. She now had full custody of my kids until all of this kidnapping stuff was over. The boys were told they could come back into the house. They lazily walked back into the house.

"Hey sleepyheads." Carrie said to them.

"Hey GrandmaCarrie." They both said In unison.

"Wait! what about my grandson, shouldn't he be coming with me?" Jessie asked. "I'm his biological grandmother not her."

The man flipped through a mainally folder with Camaros name on it. "Yes indeed you are. But she is his legal guardian. It says here she adopted him about 5 months ago.

I looked up at Carrie, she winked at me. 5 months ago I was being locked inside Chico's house. She must've adopted him while they were staying with her while King was looking for me.

To say that this woman was a life saver was an understatement. I don't know how she did it but she always got it done. She was always there when I needed her. Even when I didn't need her. Even when I thought there was no way for anyone to help me, she found a way.

She then stepped forward. "Now as you can see. Your services are not needed here. As I said before I am responsible enough to watch these kids. They're in good hands. Now goodnight." And with that she slammed the door in their faces.
