Chapter 12

Kay's P.O.V

I was headed to the courthouse for King's trial once again. Ever since I found out they were trying to convict him on some drug charges I had been on edge. He always got pulled back into the game and I was getting really tired of it.

But what really had me wondering this time, was the fact that they had witnesses. I don't know if they were lying just to scare King or what, but I was gonna find out today. I got dressed, kissed my kids goodbye and headed out of the door towards an unknown fate.

The last time I talked to King he told me to get a job. I did as he said and got a job but it was illegal and dangerous, I knew he wouldn't approve. It's not right to keep secrets in a relationship, but in cases like this some things were better left unsaid. I was doing it for the both of us. If King found out, I don't know what would happen.

I arrived at the courthouse early so that I could get a chance to talk to King before everything started. King had connects but his connects weren't good enough to get him out of jail. However, they were good enough to get him some special privileges inside of the pen. I walked in and walked to the back to an interrogation room, where he was sitting there waiting for me.

Once he saw me he grabbed me and pulled me into a loving hug. I embraced every second of it because, who knows how long he could be gone again.

"What's up baby girl?"

"I miss you so much boy!" I said as I tried to keep myself together in here. I wanted to be strong for the both of us.

"I miss you too man. We only got like 5 minutes, show me a little bit of how much you missed me." He said as he grabbed a handful of my ass. I got aroused just by his touch.

I then pulled back and looked up at him as our lips connected and we began a loving, long overdue, passionate kiss. He gripped my butt harder and harder as the kiss became more passionate. I swear we kissed all of 3 minutes before I pulled myself away before we started something we wouldn't be able too finish in here.

I looked up at him and blushed as he looked down at me. We shared a intense stare until he finally spoke up again.

"Look ma, for real. You got that job like I told you?" he asked me in a more serious tone. I knew all of the playing was over with.

I swallowed the lump in my throat then nodded my head as in yes. I grew nervous just thinking about my 'job'.

"Good. Ima be out of here soon I promise and then you'll never have to work again a day in your life. How my kids doing?"

"They're fine, they miss you. WE miss you King!" I whined to him.

He bit his bottom lip and replied. "Damn, I know."

Then there was a knock at the door, letting us know it was time for King's trial. He kissed me again and then we went our separate ways. I went out too sit in the courtroom. When I got there I noticed Bri already there and getting her papers ready. I knew she wouldn't dissapoint me during this case. I looked around for Marcus, because he was usually here early like me. This was very unusual for him not to be here.

Marcus was on his way inside of the courthouse when he noticed the woman from his business meeting the other day walking out. He was going to try to get her attention but he noticed that she was in a rush and in a heated conversation with someone on her phone. He then remembered that they had to met up later today at 1 anyway to discuss new things for their business. So, he just decided he would just wait until then.
