|Carter|This evening is my bachelor party and my friends are throwing it for me since I'm getting married in three days. Oh god, where do I start with Rebecca and my "love story" basically we don't really love each other but for my dad's company we have to get married so he can do business with her father finally. I hadn't talked to or seen Emma in five years and I miss her every day, she cut me off out of nowhere.
At first, she kept saying she was busy with college homework which made sense but after about five months she just stopped responding to my calls and messages and that really hurt. Rebecca says it's for the best but I don't agree I want to see my best friend.

A few hours later"No, I'm not doing that," I answer my best friend named Jack.
"Please come on man it will be so funny," Jack said laughing with my other friend named Conner.
"No,"
"Okay fine don't get your underwear in a twist," Conner said before drinking more vodka.
"Hey, please share will you," Jack said taking it out of Connor's hands.
"Hey!"
"Guys come on we're not five years old now," I interrupt them from fighting.
"Fine," they both answer. They fight like children sometimes and I'm like their mother.
"So how's the bride-to-be," Jack says before getting up from his bar chair.
"She's okay just stressed out about the wedding I honestly don't know why because it's not a big deal, but she keeps saying you only get married once," I say following him.
"Unless you get a divorce and marry again," Connor says taking a sip of his drink.
"Yeah, but you know my father would never let that happen,"
"Okay, can we not talk about the bride-to-be," Jack interrupts.
"Stop calling her that," I say quickly.
"Okay, sorry man," Jack says looking around the bar.
"Can we go to Walgreens?" Connor asks getting up from his bar seat.
"Yea we can, we're not that drunk yet," I say following him.
As we are walking to Walgreens, Connor and Jack are laughing about something as we walk in, and start to go down every aisle one by one.
"Truth or dare Carter," Jack asks me looking at some candy in the aisle.
"Really Jack okay fine dare I guess," I answer rolling my eyes.
"I dare you to bump "accidentally" into the beautiful young lady in the next aisle and get her number for me," Jack tells me laughing a little.
"Why can't you just get it yourself," I ask him as we continue to walk down the aisle.
"Because this is more fun, live a little will you," Jack says smirking.
"Okay, then I will do it,"
I turn the corner really fast into the next aisle, making sure I bump into her, a flash of red orangish hair fills my vision. The one item she was holding falls out of her hands onto the ground, I kneel down and start helping pick up her things.
"Carter,"
That voice. I know that voice.
"E-Emma," I say to her in shock from seeing her.
"Oh man, you know her, well then never mind come on Carter let's go it's my turn now," Connor says grabbing my arm and pulling me away from her.
"I have to go," she muttered under her breath wiping a tear from her cheek before turning and walking to the front of the store.
"Emma, wait," I quickly say but I was too late she was gone.
"Carter let's go I'll find a different girl," Jack says to me looking confused.
I just saw Emma after five years but the only thing that's on my mind. Was she always this close to me without me knowing?
"When you loved someone and had to let them go, there will always be that small part of yourself that whispers, "What was it that you wanted and why didn't you fight for it?"
