Finding You

chapter 2

Tomioka Giyuu was sleeping soundly. The storm didn't help though. Lightnings striked several times. If only Zenitsu was as powerful as those. No, that was an understatement. He was away for too long to see the whole demon Slayer corps improvement. Zenitsu must have been practicing alot to improve his skills. All of them were powerful now and were improving. Tomioka was just away for most of that time.

It was a miracle. After a year of going missing, he was back. He returned with deep slashes on his body and was seriously injured, even though a year had passed. Tomioka was constantly in fights for humans and had obtained more scars than ever. Everyone was so shocked. It soon then turned to happiness though, and they were all crying, welcoming him back. Tanjiro was the most happy. They all celebrated, but stop when Tomioka has asked where Shinobu was. Everyone went silent and someone even started crying. Tomioka was curious. He was surprised by everybody's reaction to her name too. Tanjiro volunteered to explain what happened later at night, so everyone in the room can enjoy the celebration that evening and not being moody by what reminded them. So later that night, Tanjiro sat in his room with Tomioka and explained to him what had become of Shinobu.

"She's not here anymore," Tanjiro said with a sad expression.

"What do you mean? Had she quit being a demon slayer? Kanao is still here though." Tomioka questioned with his normal expressionless face.

"No, Shinobu-san would never quit being a demon slayer, but she left. After finding out what happened to you a year ago, she went hazard. The forest that you had gone in to finish your mission, there, she went there. She cried hard and despite the warning not to go there, she went anyway. We all tried our hardest to find her after, but failed. She left without anyone knowing at night. She couldn't accept the fact that you were gone." Said Tanjiro, gripping his uniform.

Tomioka eyes widened to it's max but said nothing. His heart beats faster, his breathing went ragged and his body went numb. Had Shinobu died for him? She couldn't. Not after all the 'no one likes you' that she gave him. She cou-

"The last thing she said before anyone sees her again was that she loves you. If you were happen to be back, please know that she loves you with all her heart. She said that in the note that we found in her room the morning after her disappearing." Tanjiro choked out. He couldn't bear this, especially to Tomioka.

Tomioka on the other hand, slowly and shakily put his hand over his mouth. Little did Shinobu knows that Giyuu loves her too. He just couldn't express it, not when he knew that no one could love him. No one could love a cold and numb person like he was, but Shinobu did. She was way too wonderful for him. Tomioka would never forget that day, when he realised that Shinobu had left to go find him, to save him.

Now he cannot go back to sleep. The memories of that day faded in with the lightnings. It had been three years since he knows about Shinobu disappearance. Did Shinobu knows that Tomioka was back? Did she? Or... Did she passed away while trying to find him? Tomioka closed his eyes tightly and gritted his teeth. He couldn't bear it if Shinobu were to die for him. He couldn't. Where was she now? Why did she had to disappeared? Is she still in that forest? Tomioka bombarded himself with questions and he had decided that tomorrow, at the forest, he will see for himself.
