Shinobu tried to utter a word, but nothing came out of her mouth. Shinobu tried and tried to say something, to defend herself and to defend Tomioka, but it seemed like she had lost her ability to speak. Demons can speak, correct? So why couldn't she? But then again, she might have turned out like Nezuko. A demon, yes, but the ability to speak, no.
Shinobu grunted as she tried to flex her fingers, just to make sure they weren't numb. With her long, pale purple nails digging into her palms like the current situation, there were marks on her palms, deep, angry red mark that could draw blood any moment.
This was just like the trial back then for Nezuko and Tanjiro, but it was just more violent. It was near morning, but not quite. The sky was still dark and certainly everyone else was asleep, except for the Hashiras and Ubuyashiki, the leader that was at the trial. Nezuko was there as well, just for the reason that they were both demons, and that Ubuyashiki was kind enough to let someone in the same hard-believing position that Shinobu was in. Ubuyashiki was so kind, Shinobu couldn't help but simply trust him.
They always starts out with the Hashiras discussing among themselves about the situation and then Ubuyashiki would silence them with his peaceful voice, then they would decide altogether what would be the outcome of the person in trial.
In this case it was Shinobu.
"Nezuko turned out fine, so we should keep an eye on Shinobu and see what she would do. She was a Hashira anyway, everyone was clear of her hatred for the demons." This was Himejima voicing out his idea calmly, not to provoke anyone or side with anyone. He just wanted this to end peacefully for everyone.
"This is a surprise that Shinobu is back! We should question both Tomioka and her! Something might've happened between them!" Rengoku bright voice sounded out, not wavering one bit.
"We should tie her up." Sanemi pissed voice said. Shinobu would be pissed as well if she was woken up to a meeting about a human being turned into a demon that haven't been in sight for 4 years. Now that she thought about it, Shinobu realised just how pathetic she is.
They all went quiet as Ubuyashiki raised his pale and slender finger up to his mouth, indicating for them to stop. Shinobu glanced over at Tomioka, who was wrapped in bandages and the same as her, hands tied behinds back. They were outside, exactly like where Tanjiro and Nezuko have their first trial, but there weren't any cover for Shinobu incase the sun comes up. In their current situation, the light resources were from lanterns, hanging up on either the wall or random places. There was one next to Ubuyashiki as he sat on the wooden platform as the others were on the ground.
"We shall let Shinobu and Tomioka accompany eachother in the same room until sunrise. If they make it out alive in pieces without having to kill one of another, then we will decide."
Shinobu was quite shock. Ubuyashiki was a kind man, a kind master, but sometimes people tend to forget how smart he really is. The little demon knew he must have had tricks up his sleeves, for no way he would let his slayers die. Ever.
But Shinobu was not a Demon Slayer anymore, and that gets on her nerves.
Tanjiro just had to drag her all the way to Ubuyashiki with Nezuko. He, of course being the master knew about her arrival with Tomioka, but not other Hashiras or anyone for that matter. Now they must have an urgent meeting, and the Hashiras were no doubt were surprised. Their mouths were gaping like dying fishes and Kanrouji gasped was so loud that Shinobu felt the urge to smile and hug her, but she couldn't.
Upon seeing Shinobu was a surprise and relief for everyone, but they were pissed. Because of how much they care for her that they have gone through so much trouble just to try to find her.
'Case's closed', people said, but those certain people, not only the Hashiras but her friends, her comrades had just give them the cold glare and turned their backs on those people, never giving up, but Shinobu was no where to be seen. They were pissed. Out of all the time, she had to return now? Being a demon? Letting those people saying that they were correct, that they shouldn't have tried so hard to find Shinobu?
The exhausted demon just wanted to both thank and say sorry to those people who had cared about her. She loved them so much, so much that if she could pour her heart out to them, she would. But she would definitely do that later, not now.
Even if the blood is tempting and she is exhausted, which only give her more reason to devour Tomioka if they were to stay in a room. But Shinobu would never do that. Tomioka was the love of her life, who she had waited four sad, teary years to see. Who was she kidding? In other words, who was kidding her?
