Run faster, Giyuu. Run faster, was what he told himself.

Tomioka entered the forest not so long ago, so that means they must be close to getting out. The lifeless, tired-looking Shinobu on his back was still unconscious and blood wouldn't stop flowing out of her. The Water Hashira has tried though, to stop the bleeding he meant. Wrapped tightly in her sister's Haori was Shinobu, steadily breathing, but slightly falling off everytime, and Tomioka would have to grabbed on to her. Tomioka tried to stop the bleeding in general by doing that, and surprisingly, it was working. But it wasn't working that the blood is damping from her clothes through to his clothes. Who would want to have blood stains on them? Especially someone's blood. Someone that is precious to you.

Tomioka always have thought that he had never suffered enough pain, and through seeing Tanjiro, he was right. Seeing how much pain Tanjiro endured, he felt... Sympathetic. Now he felt like Tanjiro. Running through the wet and humid forest, trying to save that one girl he loves from turning into a demon.

Just like Tanjiro.

How sad and confused Tanijro was feeling when his beloved sister was bleeding and unconscious, was how Tomioka was feeling now. Confused and... Hurt. If Shinobu were to loose her life and become a demon, Tomioka would... He couldn't even think what he would do then. It was all... Unthinkable.

Shinobu was slowly sliding off his back and her sword kept on stabbing him from behind, but he would take just a second to adjust and would kept on going. Almost there. Tomioka could feel it. But his mind always was wandering and wondering. How did this happen?

Out of all the time that he was gone, how many times had Shinobu tried to find him, to save him? He had miss her so much. Looking at her face just make his heart beat like mad, even if he was dead his heart would beat so fast it would bring him back alive.

It's crazy, but that was just how much he loves Shinobu.

Tomioka's breathing is ragged and rough, while Shinobu's arms and legs were dangling on the sides. The bitten Hashira's hair was undoubtedly long, making thin curtains on both side of the Water Hashira's shoulder as he ran. Even though now was not the time to think about the little things, Shinobu's sword was getting more and more annoying by poking Giyuu's back. He knew just how much the old but pristine sword meant to Shinobu, and with a whip of his slender hand, he got it back into place and was running with the Insect Hashira on his back.

Chills coarse through Tomioka as the wind blew and at the same time, Giyuu blended in with the dark and hazardous forest. The crease between his brows were unbelievable, and even if Tomioka couldn't see how tired Shinobu actually was, he could feel it. How much she had endure to find him.

Just for a moment, a split moment, he allowed himself to tilt his head up and enjoyed the cold breeze. The distant sounds of the natural habitat around Tomioka calmed him down. So he kept on running and running as the crickets' chirping and the shuffling of leaves and the whoosh of cold wind hit his extremely pale face and making him feel more relieved.

Then it suddenly hits him like a thunder.

Tomioka let out a startled, croaked gasp.

The Water Hashira slowed down to a stop, head whipping up, dark, serious blue eyes wide at it's max and confused.

He did it. He made it back to the estate. He brought Shinobu back to her home.

Their home.
