Selena Evans was a devout dog mama and veterinarian. She was more than that, but those were her two greatest accomplishments; in her opinion anyway. It was her favorite thing about herself, that also included the fact that every dog she had ever met loved her too.

While on a run with her puppy, Teddy, she happened to have collided with Luke Alvez and his dog, Roxy. It was such a cliché, at least she thought so, but the moment they ran into each other, Roxy had fallen in love with Teddy and Selena. After a mutter of apologies and a short conversation, her business card had ended up in his pocket. As unforgettable as Selena was, he didn't think of the card that had been tucked into his jacket until a couple weeks later when Roxy had hurt her paw.

Their next meeting was under sad circumstances, but Selena made it better with a happy dog in the end and discounted prices for her new friends. After that, Luke found excuses to see Selena and get to know her, and it was only a matter of time until he found feelings for the wonderful woman.

• because a lot of pets like her means she's very friendly and a good person with strong morals
• she and Luke actually knock each other down the first time they meet
• her dog, Teddy, and his Roxy are friendly with each other from the start
• that was a huge factor when Luke decides that he really does have feelings for Selena, plus the fact that she's such a dog person
• she loves all types of animals though!
• they don't have to be endgame (up to the author!) but it'd be really cute if they were
