Since moving to Los Angeles, Phoebe Evans has a much better perspective on life. It's a lot easier to focus on her dreams of having a successful career in law enforcement when she has people around her who support her. Mainly, her uncle Benji; who was awarded custody when she was sixteen years old.

However, as Phoebe gets a good taste of the job, she realizes it's not all glory. With an awesome sergeant as a partner, the territory is much more bearable. Even as she creates friendships with the firefighters she works closely with.

When they hear her story, one firefighter in particular is confused how her family hates her for pursuing her dream. It's seems so impossible. But Hen Wilson and Athena Grant make her realize: it's because of them, people like them and the people before them, that there is power in change.

- Phoebe grew up in St. Louis, Missouri as an only child to emotionally abusive parents
- she's wanted to be a cop since she was five
- but her dad wanted to raise her as a house wife
- Phoebe grew up with sexiest roles pushed on her
- by the age of 14/15 she had enough
- and she begged her uncle Benji to fight for custody
- he did eventually sue for custody of Phoebe
- Benji won, and he moved back to LA with her
- automatically, Phoebe was a happier person
- and Benji pushed her to complete her dreams
- Phoebe finished high school, the required education by the state of California and the the academy
- so by season 1, Phoebe is about 22/23 ish
- she trains with Athena and they are partners at the start of her career
- Phoebe struggles a lot at the beginning
- people look down on her, and not just other cops, but civilians too bc she's a young woman
- Athena is quick to reassure her, bc she knows
- and Athena introduces her to Hen
- Phoebe, Athena + Hen = Iconic Trio™️
- with the Iconic Trio, Phoebe learns that there is power in change
- and through work, she meets Buck
- due to their ages, they do become fast friends
- and when Phoebe tells him her story, he's confused bc her family hates her and doubted her constantly
- like "you completed your dreams, why do they hate you" type of thing
- I do see them having a small romantic relationship (either before or after Abby)
- but whether they stay together is up to the author
- however, please remember that there is a lot of fighting from Phoebe as she proves her worth and there's a lot of positive feminism
