Melissa's POV:
When I get to work, I'm not worried about running into Tim because he told me he was getting breakfast for Sarah. There's no way he could be here when having to do all that. I got here quickly because I threw on a sweatshirt and leggings. I would have come in my pajamas, but I already had an altercation with Gibbs about that and don't plan on having another one.
The second I get to my floor; I run to my office and I'm stopped by seeing Jack sitting on the couch.
"What are you doing here?" I ask out of breath from running.
He looks me up and down. "I needed a change of scenery. Why are you breathing heavy?"
Never mind that. Damn I have to get back into shape. "No, I mean here in general." I don't mind that he sits in my office sometimes, he knows that.
"Oh." He looks back at his work. "I just had to get away from my parents."
"Everything okay?"
He sighs. "Oh yeah. No fight or anything, just trying to talk to me about dating."
"Oh. I'm sorry." Parents on the issue of dating doesn't make any sense. The best advice they can give is, "Stay true to yourself." Times change especially when it comes to dating. If I have kids one day I for sure won't know what the hell to tell them. I can barely help myself as it is.
He shrugs. "You get used to it. It's just this time I have work to escape to."
I'm glad he's okay because I have other issues to take care of. "Hey, did John come by to pick up his prescription?"
He shakes his head. "Not that I know of."
He couldn't have because he doesn't know where it is. When I check the cabinet, the bottle is still there. I never thought I would be so happy to see drugs in my life.
"Do you need me for anything?" I ask while walking towards the door.
He doesn't look up. "Nope."
I run into Abby's lab and she's actually standing there waiting for me, for once. She's not standing at her computer or yelling at her equipment.
She puts her hand on her hip. "Why are you running around the building? I heard you run to your office and on your way here."
"Because this." I go over to her and force the bottle into her hand. "This drug. Isn't it mostly used for insomnia?"
She reads the bottle and looks at me. "Yeah. Peters, you know this." She walks over to the computer and starts to look up the drug.
"I know the side effects, but there has to be one I'm looking over."
"Looking over what?" She looks at me and I almost caved in and told her.
"I can't tell you."
She looks more than disappointed. "What? Come on, you said no more secrets!"
