Melissa's POV:

The feeling of not sleeping next to Tim is back to being weird. I missed his body next to mine for so long that I just wanted to stay like that. Last night, I didn't miss him as much though.

I have to admit, that one glass of wine really knocked me out. I was lucky that they kept refilling our water at the restaurant or I wouldn't have been able to drive us home.

I was so tired when we got back that I told myself I would tell Tim about James wanting to meet him today. When I woke up, I had two texts from Tim. One saying, "goodnight baby. I hope everything went well tonight." And the other one read, "good morning. I can't wait to see you tonight. I love you." I told him I loved him too and got my butt to work.

I've been at my laptop all day finalizing appointments and reaching out to Ducky and another doctor about the most used drugs that people have used when working here. I wrote down the recommended dosage, the drug, the purpose, and their side effects. It wasn't as simple as that. The list became so long they just sent me a file that I didn't know was already on the computer. I wrote them down anyway because if I do, I'll remember more than reading words on a computer.

The end of the day is nearing us, and I can't wait. As I attempt to finish the last of my charts, there's a knock at the door.

"Jack!" I stand up and bring him into a hug. "Long time no see. How have you been?"

We walk over to the couch and he plops down. "How do you think when I haven't had you to talk to?" He looks stressed from not getting his usual dosage of gossip.

I giggle. "Sorry about that. It's been a little crazy."

"I'd say. After that day Gibbs barged in here, I heard you were back on the team."

Rumors, even at work. Damn it.

"No, I've never really been off the team. But they just needed me for this one case that they were stuck on."

He shakes his head. "So, what's the deal? Vance came downstairs to send me here. Is the program working?"

I can barely hold in my excitement. "Oh, the system is working fine."

He gives me a confused look. "Not that I don't love you but why would Vance creepily send me here if you don't need anything?"

"Oh, no I do need you for something."

I start playing with my hands. "I know that you said you would be here until you find something that you like that's more up your ally."

He squints his eyes. "Okay..."

"If you want to would you like to go from intern to psychiatrist assistant?"

He's silent for a second and doesn't move.

"If you say yes, you would still be doing some of the intern's job because they would need someone to replace you, but that's fine because you already know your way around the system and don't have to be trained. I mean let's be honest you trained me." I feel like I'm back to working as a barista trying to sell the largest cup size. "Somethings you would do is pick up medication, make a few phone calls but I've been making the important ones so nothing would be on you." I get up and stand by the window. "I was talking to Vance about even putting a desk here. If you're going to be helping me with paperwork, it would be way too crowded at my desk. He said it was a good idea. He just has to put an order in for it."

I calm my excitement and go back to the couch where Jack silently sits.

"So, what do you think?"
