Lauren stood in the middle of the field surrounded by butterflies and flowers. Spinning around as the sun kissed her skin, Lauren faced the tree line where (Y/N) hid in the shadows.
She was scared, hesitant to be out here, out there in the open field. Not only was it the place Lauren was hurt, but it was currently the place where Lauren had convinced her to shift and spend the day in her human form.
The only reason she agreed was because she trusted Lauren, and Lauren said it was safe. She said they was more wolves on the border now, and she trusted her.
But that didn't mean she wasn't scared.
"Come on, Pup. It's just me, you're okay." Lauren reassured.
Taking a deep breath, (Y/N) slowly stepped out of the shadows and into the light, using her hand to shield her eyes from the harsh sun as her eyes adjusted.
Blinking a few times, the younger wolf looked around the field, wincing at the sight of the once glorious willow tree. She could still see the splatters of blood on the bark, though barely visible she remembered.
More grass and flowers grew where he rouges were buried off to the side, attracting butterflies and bees to its pollen.
Turning back to the middle, her eyes met Laurens emerald green ones as her mate sent her a proud smile.
Puffing out her chest she took long strides towards the omega, soon reaching her and picking her up, spinning her around in her embrace.
(Y/N) squealed at the sudden contact but giggled never the less.
It was like magic to Laurens ears, encouraging the older girl to place her mate down and pepper her face in kisses.
"S-stop Lolo!" (Y/N) laughed, pressing herself further into Laurens arms as she shoved her face into the Alphas neck, embracing her mate.
Lauren smiled triumphantly at her mates giddiness, her mates nerves dissipating with her distraction.
Following her mates lead, Lauren burried her head into her mates neck as well, breathing in her scent. She still used the green apple and vanilla body wash she used in the very beginning, Lauren loving the smell. (Y/N) didn't care what she smelled like though, leaving it up to Lauren.
Peppering her mates neck in kisses, Lauren laughed as her mates tried to copy her, giggles emitting from the pair of them.
Quickly removing herself from Laurens embrace, (Y/N) pushed Lauren a few steps back before running in the opposite direction across the field, urging Lauren to chase her.
A devilish grin crossed Laurens face as she set off in chase, quickly shifting into her wolf form as she followed her.
(Y/N) squealed in excitement and anticipation, knowing Lauren would catch her without a doubt.
While they had been working on her endurance she was still a bit slow compared to the higher ranks, but she was getting the hang of it, using her size to evade and use sharper turns.
Lauren kept a steady pace, occasionally nipping at her heels but not jumping on her and stopping her just yet, she wanted to play a big more before she did, she counted this as endurance training for the young wolf.
So for the next ten minutes, (Y/N) actively avoided the willow tree and ran around the field with Lauren before finally giving up and laying in a patch of shade near the tree line.
Lauren was quick to join her in the shade, away from the sun before shifting and lovingly kissing her mates cheek.
Slipping on a long baggy shirt, Lauren joined her mate, resting her head on the younger girls chest as she took in the flowers and scents around them. It was so peaceful out here.
Barely anyone came near the north border due to it being so close to rouge teritory, along with Lauren telling them to stay away during the times of 12-5. Her pack didn't question her, they knew to respect her wishes and that she had a good reason.
So as she looked at the sky, knowing it was roughly three o'clock, Lauren stood back up before helping her mate up as well.
(Y/N) groaned as Lauren helped her up, "Lolooooo," she whined before sinking into her mates embrace.
Lauren smiled at her whine, "awwww, is my pup getting tired?" She asked, placing a soft kiss onto (Y/N)'s pouty lips, following it up with a kiss to her temple.
"Come on my love," Lauren said, stepping out of there embrace before shedding the shirt and shifting back to her wolf.
(Y/N) smiled at how elegant Lauren looked in her wolf form before setting off, this time chasing her mate.
Lauren weaved and ducked under (Y/N)s attempts to grab her, making the (Y/H/C) laugh, bringing music to the Alphas ears.
It was when she neared the shade of the willow did (Y/N) stop running after her, slowing down before stopping about 20 meters away from Lauren and the willow.
Her nerves where back and her skin was crawling, she scanned the field for other wolves just incase, turning rapidly as she looked.
Once she was sure there wasn't anyone else she turned back to Lauren, finding her mate in front of her as she pulled the shirt back on.
"It's okay, Pup." Lauren told her, pulling her into her arms and hugging her tightly.
(Y/N) jugged her back just as fiercely, clinging her her shirt like she was going to disappear, how could she say it was okay, she nearly died. She said she wouldn't leave, never again. She was suppose to stay here and protect her.
"No Leave, Lolo. You said you wouldn't! No leave, Lolo!" (Y/N) yelled, letting a few tears fall from her eyes.
"Shhhh, my love. I'm not going anywhere, I'm not going to leave you. Lolo's okay, Pup." Lauren said as she comforted her , peppering the side of her mates head with kisses.
Soon the small wolf calmed down, tucked away in Laurens hold as the Alpha gently rocked them as she hummed under her breath.
Gently pulling away, Lauren held her mates hand and gently pulled her towards the willow, singing the melody she was previously humming.
"Deep in the meadow," she began, the grass tickling their ankles as they made their way towards the tree. It was closer now, ten meters.
"Under the willow," They pushed their way through the leafs, (Y/N) tightening her grip on Laurens hand.
"A bed of grass, a soft green pillow." Lauren tugged them down onto the grass, pulling (Y/N) between her legs before wrapping her up in her arms.
"Lay down your head, and close your eyes. And when they open, the sun will rise." She whispered in her ear, (Y/N) following her instructions, following her mates breathing.
"Here it's safe, here it's warm. Here the daises guard, you from every harm." Lauren began slightly rocking them again.
"Here your dreams are sweet, and tomorrow brings them true." (Y/N) breathing was back to normal by now, Lauren kissing the side of her head.
"Here is the place, where I love you..."
