Louis and Harry stood outside of the arena. The doors were locked and they had both overslept. Louis stood slightly behind Harry and texted with Paul who was going to come and open the backdoor for them. It was colder than the day before and just standing there waiting didn't make it much warmer. Harry stood and looked at his phone as well. Louis lifted himself up on his tiptoes and let his chin on Harry's shoulder to see what Harry was doing. It didn't take long before Louis rolled his eyes and chuckled after Harry took a picture of them.
"You're obsessed with me, you little creep." Louis huffed jokingly and Harry turned around.
"Hi!" Harry said once he had turned around and Louis gave him a weird look. He opened his mouth to question Harry's irrelevant answer when Harry placed his hands on Louis' shoulder and spun him around.
"Oh, hello." Louis said seeing Paul standing with the door open. The three walked in and Louis gave Harry a kiss on his cheek before he had to run to the stage since he was already late for his soundcheck. Meanwhile Harry walked with Paul.
"You're quite into photographing, aren't you?" Paul asked while they were walking and Harry looked at him.
"I am." Harry said with a smile.
"What is it about it that you love so much?" Paul asked and looked at Harry as they turned left to get to the stage area.
"Oufff, everything?" Harry chuckled and looked around while he was thinking. "Shortly, I just think it's fascinating how you can capture and literally save a moment in a picture, you know? An everlasting memory and a part of a story captured by one simple click."
"Have you ever thought about making it into some career? From what I've seen they seem pretty good - the pictures you've taken."
"Thanks." Harry said with a smile. "I have actually, but I'm not completely sure in what direction I'd like to go deeper into."
"You mean like you don't know if you want to photograph people or nature?"
"Yeah, kinda." Harry smiled for himself. "Although if I could make a living out of taking pictures of Louis, trust me - I definitely would." Harry chuckled jokingly as they got into the open space with the stage.
Louis had already plugged in his stuff and was testing the volume on his microphone when they arrived. And if Harry thought the place the day before was huge he certainly had no words to describe this arena. He looked around with his mouth open. He felt like an ant standing in the almost completely empty arena. And even though he hadn't known or been with Louis for that long he still felt so proud that Louis was going to fill up this big building with people who adored him and loved his music and supported him in everything he did. Just as the day before Harry took a seat in front of the stage while Louis was doing his soundcheck. But this time, since they had been late, the staff had already taken away the chairs so Harry sat down on the floor next to Louis' tossed jacket. By the time Harry had sat down, taken off his own jacket and got slightly comfortable on the floor Louis finally started his soundcheck and rehearsal.
...
As Harry was home in his bedroom to change clothes before the concert started he heard voices downstairs. He grabbed his phone to put it in his back-pocket before he left his room and made his way downstairs. When he followed the voices they lead him to the kitchen. Before he walked in he heard Louis' voice among the others and he immediately got a smile on his face. Once he entered the kitchen he saw, as expected, Louis and his mother, Anne, but he also saw Paul and Louis' manager. Harry stopped by one of the counters and cleared his throat. All four of them turned their faces to see Harry standing with a small smile across his lips but it was obvious that he was somewhat confused about what was going on.
"There he is, we were just talking about you!" Louis exclaimed and walked closer but before he could reach Harry he stopped himself since he remembered that his manager was with them.
"You were? Why?" Harry asked and looked at all of them, unsure of what was happening still.
"Well you don't have a job, right?"
Harry looked over at Louis who bit his lip after asking the question. What a way of pouring some salt in the open wound. Louis stepped aside and looked over at his manager, hoping that he would take over this conversation - which he did.
"I've got to say you've got an eye for photography, Harry." The manager began and Harry blushed lightly in response.
"Thank you, sir." Harry whispered with a small smile. Harry looked over at Anne who stood with a cup of coffee in her hand and a proud smile on her face.
"Louis have shown me more than the picture from the concert. He showed me the ones you've been taking with him for his instagram. And they're really good." The manager continued and Harry looked at Louis who smiled brightly but innocently.
"Thank you again, sir. We're gathered to talk about my pictures?" Harry asked as he started to get impatient and curious about what was going on in this kitchen.
"Do you wanna go on the tour with me?!" Louis exclaimed, he was too excited to drag it out more. Everyone turned to Louis who looked at Harry with a bright smile. Harry looked confused and surprised.
"What?" He managed to get out even though he heard exactly what Louis just asked him but he couldn't understand the relevance for that question.
"Basically we were going to hire a photographer who could take 'behind the scenes'-pictures and concert-pictures while Louis is doing the tour to update on his official socials. And after Louis showed us pictures that you've taken and insisted that you'd be good for the job, we had a meeting earlier and decided that - if you want to - you can be the photographer." The manager explained and Harry gasped. He looked around at all four of them again as he tried to take it all into his head. Then he turned to his mother who already looked at him and lowered his voice:
"And you're allowing me to go with them?" He whispered and Anne nodded in response before putting her empty cup in the sink.
"Yes, sweetie. It's a job and I trust Louis and Paul, and the others, to take care of you along the way. Plus I know your inner passion for photography." She said with a smile as she walked closer to him. Harry finally dared to show a smile and hugged his mother who hugged him back. Harry then turned towards the three men with one arm around his mother's shoulders and smiled.
"When do I start?"
Louis picked up his phone to check what time it was before he looked up at Harry and smiled.
"In one hour and 47 minutes."
"I need to go and pack!" Harry exclaimed and was about to walk out of the kitchen when the manager stopped him.
"First, you need to read through and sign this contract. It's after all a real job we're offering you here." He said and handed a smaller bunch of papers to Harry who nodded.
"Of course, sir."
"I can read it out loud for you while you're packing, to save some time." Louis suggested and smiled nervously at his manager for his approval. Even though it was mostly because he wanted to spend some alone time with Harry before everything started.
"That's not a bad idea. Just don't forget about the time, it's a big show tonight." The manager answered and took on his jacket as he got ready to leave.
"I-" Louis began then he looked at Harry and smiled. "We promise."
