Frozen pizza, check.
Bread, check.
Tampons for mom, not check.

Dan walked through the isles of the grocery store, pushing a shopping cart. His mom had made him a list of things to buy, and she'd given him the money to pay for it. He got everything on the list except the tampons.

It was a Sunday, so the store wasn't very busy, but there weren't that many employees working either. Therefore, he didn't have very many choices on which cash register to go to. He walked to the first one he saw and was surprised at who was working it.

Tyler Oakley.

Dan was considering going to a different cash register but before he could, Tyler smiled at him. Tyler finished helping the costumer that was in line in front of Dan. Reluctantly, Dan moved up in line.

"Hey Dan," Tyler said with a smile. Dan was sure Tyler would beat him up then and there.

"Hey Tyler," Dan mumbled. He didn't mean to mumble, but he's the kind of person that mumbles a lot.

"I have good news!" Tyler began scanning Dan's items. "I found out that it was you who texted my mom telling her I'm gay, and at first I was mad but it worked out perfectly fine and she accepts me and she doesn't even know I didn't send the text and thank you thank you thank you I never could've done that by myself."

"That was a really long run on sentence," Dan said with a light laugh.

"I know, but I'm so happy! And I'm not mad at you, even though you are a bitch." Tyler realized he had said that out loud and glanced over his shoulder, hoping his boss wasn't nearby.

"It was Caspar's idea. Me and Phil just helped him do it."

"How did you even get in my locker?"

"We sorta got onto the secretary's computer and got your combination. I hope you're not mad about that." Dan awkwardly put his hands in his pocket.

Tyler scanned the last item and put it in the bag. "It doesn't matter to me. Friends?"

"Friends." They shook hands, and after Dan had paid for his items, he left feeling better than he ever had before.

"Dan, did you get my tampons?" Dan's mom asked as soon as he walked through the front door. He put the grocery bags on the kitchen counter and began putting away the groceries.

"Um I actually forgot. Sorry mum." He said, looking away from his mom, who was sitting at the dinning table.

His mom rolled her eyes. "You were too embarrassed weren't you?"

"Weeeeeell." Dan sat at the table when he was finished putting away the groceries.

"It's okay. I can get some tomorrow after work. Oh and before I forget, your friend Phil called. He told me to tell you to call him back when you got home."

"Okay thanks mum," Dan said, getting up to get the home phone. He dialed Phil's number, which he had memorized, and pressed call. He walked up the stairs to his bedroom as the phone rang.

"Hello?" Phil said through the phone.

"Hi! It's Dan." He laid down on his black and white duvet in his black and white bedroom in his black and white world.

"Are you doing anything tonight?" Phil sounded a bit nervous.

"No, I don't think so. Why?" Dan ran his fingers over the soft duvet.

"Do you want to come over for a bit? Like in a hour?" Phil's voice cracked when he said "come over".

"Yea sure. Tell me your address, and I'll be there in thirty."

So Dan drove to the address Phil had given him. He parked his car on the side of the road and slowly got out of the car. He was nervous, but it was just Phil. He knew there was nothing to worry about. So he walked slowly to the front door and knocked. Moments later the door was opened by a woman who looked a lot like Phil.

"Hello," she said, "you must be Dan. Phil has been talking about you a lot. Come in, I'll let Phil know you're here."
So Dan awkwardly entered the house and waited for Phil.

"Come on Phil, hurry up," Dan thought to himself. He couldn't stand being alone in someone else's house. After what seemed like years, Phil's mom came down the stairs and told Dan he could go up to Phil's room. So he mumbled a simple 'thanks' and hurried upstairs.

"I'll be in the kitchen if you need me," Phil's mom hollered after Dan. He found Phil's room pretty easily, because it was the only bedroom upstairs. The door was opened, but Dan still knocked before entering. Phil was sitting on his bed straightening his hair with a Muse song playing in the background. He didn't seem nervous like he had on the phone.

"Whoa, you like Muse?" Dan asked, taking a seat next to Phil on the bed.

"Yea, I love them," Phil replied. The conversation ended then, with Dan being too nervous to say anything else. Phil finished straightening his hair and then turned to Dan.

"You're shaking." Phil placed his hand on Dan's shoulder.

"I'm just cold," Dan said, cringing under Phil's touch.

"No you're not."

The conversation ended for a while, but then started again when Dan said, "hey Phil, what's that camera for?" He pointed to the camera standing on a tripod in the corner of the room.

"I make youtube videos," Phil replied.

"What is your username?" Dan was surprised that someone like Phil would make youtube videos.

"Amazingphil."

"Cool," Dan made a mental note to look him up later. Then he realized something.

"Phil, how did you get my home phone number?" Dan asked.

"The phone book. Why didn't you just give it to me in the first place instead of giving me Caspar's number?"

Dan shrugged. "I was gonna tell him the plans for the prank we were gonna do, and then I was going to ask him to tell you whenever you called him."

"Oh ok," Phil said.

It got silent again, but then Dan said, "Phil I-" but he stopped himself from saying what he wanted to say.

"What?"

"Oh it's nothing, never mind." And then they continued on with normal conversation.
