Dan shook Phil's shoulder in attempt to wake him up. "Phil, wake up!" Dan whispered.

Phil groaned and then mumbled," what time is it?"

"Five."

"Five in the afternoon?" Phil mumbled.

"Five in the morning actually. I couldn't sleep, and there was nothing else to do but wake you."

"What are we going to do today?" Phil asked casually. He sat up in the bed and ran his fingers through his hair.

"First we both have to shower. Then we are going shopping. I'll shower first, if that's okay with you." Dan headed into his bathroom to shower.

Ten minutes later he came back in the room, his body wet and a towel around his waist. Phil didn't want to stare, but Dan was attractive. And Phil knew he was lucky to be friends with such a handsome dude. He watched Dan look through his closet to find clothes to wear. Dan then turned around and said," go shower so I can get dressed in privacy."

"Oh yea, sorry," was all Phil said. Ten more minutes later Phil was out of the shower. "Hey Dan can I borrow some clothes?"

"Sure." Dan grabbed a pair of clean boxers from a drawer and threw them at Phil. They hit him in the face.

"Thanks." Phil giggled. He looked through Dan's closet and picked out black skinny jeans and a Pokemon shirt. He went back in the bathroom to change and fix his hair. Through the bathroom door, Phil could hear Dan drumming on his desk in his bedroom. Phil smiled. He finished getting ready and headed out of the bathroom.

Dan was still drumming on the desk, but when he noticed Phil, he stopped. "Sorry," he apologized. "I know that annoys people. Anyway, are you ready to go?"

"Yeah, I'm ready. But wait, it's only 5:30. Isn't your mum going to hear us leaving?" Phil sat on the bed.

"No, she leaves at four," Dan replied. "Now come on, let's go."

"Are you still feeling ill? I don't want to go if you're ill." Phil told him.

Dan rolled his eyes. "I'm fine."

"Why are you in such a hurry? You're normally late."

"Because I have something to show you when we get to the mall."

"Okay," Phil said. "Let's go."

They got into Dan's car and headed to the mall. When they got there they didn't go inside. Instead Dan led Phil to a fountain outside the entrance. They sat on the fountain ledge and looked up at the stars. There were few visible because of the bright city lights and the sun slowly starting to rise over the horizon.

"When the sun rises here," Dan said as he looked at the stars, " the fountain water reflects the sunlight."

"What's so special about that?" Phil wondered out loud.

Dan hesitated to answer; he didn't want to sound stupid. "Caspar told me about color. He said its beautiful. And I want to be sitting here at this fountain at sunrise when I finally see color that will last."

"You sound crazy."

Dan sighed. "I knew you wouldn't believe me. When I saw color when I was with Louise, it didn't last long. I want to see color every time I see that special person. I want love that lasts."

A small, but sincere smile was on Phil's face when he mumbled, " I want to kiss you so bad right now."

"What? Did you say something?"

"No, I didn't say anything," Phil replied. Then suddenly they noticed a car speeding fast enough to kill the person driving in an instant if they were to crash. And that is exactly what happened. The car collided head on with another, leaving both cars in bad shape. No one inside either car moved. How could someone move if they were dead? Phil dialed 911 and reported the accident.

"I know that car!" Dan said. "That's Caspar's car!"
