A week before Christmas, Max and Jenna had a party.
Max's house was large, modern looking, and just down the road from Matthew's. The indoor swimming pool was what attracted most of the crowd, allowing the guests to wear skimpy outfits with swimsuits underneath.
Me and Matthew arrived around 7:30PM, I stopped the car.
"We're gonna have fun tonight right? Don't let Jenna get to you," he whispered.
The shaded windows on the car blocked our kiss from the view of anyone outside. He brushed his fingers across my cheek, and gripped the back of my neck. As our lips met again and again, it felt blissful, calming my nerves about the night ahead. Matthew placed his hand over my crotch, gripping through my blue denim jeans, I blushed immediately and looked down towards the footwell.
"Not here...or now," I said to him, staring deep into the blue of his eyes. "Sorry..."
"It's fine, let's go, I heard Max has put drinks out early."
We opened the doors of the car, climbed out and walked towards the entrance. Max's parents were out for the night, as well as her sister, but the house was alive with voices, with lights shining from the pool room. "Honey sweet" by Blossoms played above the chatter.
"Oh hey guys, didn't think you'd come!" Shouted Max from across the room, with Jenna trailing behind her.
"Well we're here now, thanks for letting us come," Matthew responded.
"No worries Matthew. Get yourselves a drink boys."
Me and Matt headed over to the kitchen, where cabs and cans of alcohol were stacked across the table, a cold sweat coming off each one where they'd been kept in the fridge.
"Oi Matt!" A voice shouted from outside the kitchen, followed by the sound of Nike Jordan's squeaking along the marble tile floor.
It was Reece. Reece Olive.
"Alright Reece?" He questioned, their eyes meeting as Matthew passed him a drink.
"Yeah not too bad mate, I'll see you round."
For some reason, I felt tense, with an underlying tone of jealousy. When their eyes met, I felt like something was more intense than just friendship in Reece's point of view.
"I didn't know you guys were mates," I asked.
"Well you know, we're in some of the same classes and all,"
"Oh right. I'm gonna go see Leo." With that I walked off, leaving Matthew standing there with a can in his hand.
I pulled my shirt over my head, and walked over to the pool, where I met Leo and we dived in.It was inexplicably humid in the pool room. It was a large, rectangular structure, made from bare concrete slabs for a modern look. The subtle lighting reflected on the waves of the pool, fracturing the light in all different directions. When i dived in the water, the music seemed muted.
When I came back up, I looked around for Matthew. I couldn't see him. I shifted myself around in all four directions, but he was no where. I got out of the pool, grabbed a towel and wandered through the house to check upstairs into the spare bedroom. The house was pretty dark, since I hadn't bothered to turn on any lights; just the light of the moon shone through blinds.
Suddenly, I heard footsteps creeping behind me.
"Yeah Matt I just need to talk to you bout something...but don't tell anyone yeah? It stays between us."
It was Reece.
I panicked, and flung the towel onto the end of the bed. The footsteps were approaching quickly; every thud made me tremble. I darted into the on-suite and hid behind the matte white shower curtain, the view of the rest of the room visible from my position.
"Yeah so..." said Reece, his voice notably quieter than before.
"What is it about? Just get it off your chest," said Matthew, his voice smooth and quiet like velvet.
From behind the shower curtain, I winced, trying hard not to gasp from a combination of jealousy and shock. Reece leant forwards into Matthew, pressing him against the wall, one hand just to the side of his left arm, the other, down below his waist.
"Reece I-" But before Matthew could finish, he was cut off by a kiss, and a squeeze through his swimming trunks. I saw him bite his lip and blush tremendously. "Really bro I..ahh.."
"You want this don't you." Said Reece rather bluntly, as he began to bite the top of Matthew's ear, moving down to his neck, moving down below his waist...
I felt a hot stream of tears trickle down my face, more so from my left eye, as I continued to cover my mouth. I couldn't reveal where I was, I couldn't risk Matthew seeing me like this.
A loose sweeping sound was made by the untying of Matthew's trunks, the draw string undone.
"Look Reece...I can't...I-"
