Next Monday.
I was sat waiting in the common room, near the back on the grey rows of chairs, headphones in, and completely alone.
My eyes glanced around the room, hoping no one was watching me, or talking about me at all.
At around 8:40, the common room was full. Leo and Camden were sat to the left of me, playing 'photo roulette' on their phones with the girls, who were sat in a bunch, giggling and brushing their hair behind their ears in a basic and flirty way. We all knew Madeline Marble had a thing for Camden.
Matthew walked in, sultry as ever, wearing grey joggers and a black sweater. We made eye contact and I flicked away.
The journey back to his was awkward that Saturday night, and I'd barely messaged him since. He began to approach.
"Ben...we cant keep avoiding each other," he said to me, looking down from where he was stood. His hair was unbrushed, and his eyes puffy.
"Hey! Are you two a thing?" Yelled a voice from across the room. "We saw what happened on Saturday."
My heart was racing. What would Matthew say to this? Was it time for us to announce we were, in fact together?
"Aha very funny, we were both drunk. It was a joke," shouted Matthew. "You should've filmed it if it turned you on that much."
Everyone laughed, and Franklin, the local homophobe, stayed quiet. He was deeply disliked.
"We good now?" Said Matthew. I stared up into his gorgeous blue eyes, "okay."
