"Come on. We've got to get to class." Cam pointed out as we exited the front office.

"I'll see you during fourth?"

"You bet." And with that, she left for her first period AP Lit class.

I was making my way to my AP Physics class when I felt a presence behind me. I paused for three seconds before continuing. I felt the presence again so paused for another four seconds before continuing. Six seconds later,I felt the presence again. I paused and, this time, turned around and my eyes landed on the last person I ever expected to follow me.

"What are you doing?" I asked Daniel who stared at me with wide eyes.

"Oh um. I came to talk to you about the party on Friday."

"What about it?"

"Yeah well,I shouldn't have said what I said. It was rude...I guess. Well what I'm trying to say is that I'm s...so....I'm sorrr. I'm s-sorrr-"

"You're sorry?"

"Yeah that. I'm...that." He said uncomfortably.

"Have you ever apologized to anyone before?" I asked him with amusement evident on my face.

"Not since I was ten...no." He said, scratching the back of his neck nervously.

"No wonder. That is the shittiest apology I have ever had the misfortune to hear...ever."

"Look I'm trying, okay? You should be happy that I'm attempting to apologize. I don't do this, like,at all." He stated furiously. I couldn't help but notice how adorable he looked whenever he furrowed his eyebrows in annoyance.

"I'm joking. It's okay, really. Just forget about it." I said with a smile and he smiled back. Another difference between Cam and I; I forgive and forget, she remembers and recovers.

"Cool...I hope you know that this doesn't mean that we're friends...right?"

"I wasn't counting on it."

Camryn glared, practically shooting lasers out of her eyes.

Cam, the girls and I were at our table during lunch and everything was going perfectly until Hera told us that Brandon went on a date with a girl named Ciara.

Camryn was enraged. Not because of Brandon was moving on. No. She barely even liked the guy when they were together. She was upset because of Ciara.

Ciara was one of the few people Camryn could tolerate. Before Ciara mysteriously disappeared, she and Cam were actually friends. Ciara knew that Brandon had liked her some time ago but she swore that she would never do anything with him even if he and Cam broke up before "Sisters before Misters".

"Isn't she the girl who was didn't come to school all through last semester?" Cole asked.

"Yes she is." I responded.

"Damn she's hot." Brandon commented.

"Hell yeah. Black girls do it for me." Ryder added before fist bumping Brandon.

"Oh, hush." I glared at the guys. "Are you okay?" I asked my best friend,

Camryn ignored me and went ahead to glare at Ciara's direction.

"Look at her. I'm sure she thinks she's better than me now that she has my ex boyfriend. I'm eating a sandwich. Does she want those leftovers too?"

"You know she can't hear you, right?" Ryder pointed out.

""I'm aware of that, thanks." Cam snapped.

"Come here. Let's go get some air." I said to her with a small smile and she grunted before getting up.

I knew she wasn't going to talk about it. She never talked about her problems. I also knew that she was probably going off in her head and Cam never goes off twice. She constantly talks to herself about her problems because "how else am I supposed to get expert advice?". She always bottled up her emotions until it got too much and she ended up crying herself to sleep at two o'clock in the morning. Was I worried about her? Definitely. Was I going to force her to talk to me when she clearly didn't want to? Never.

We were just about to leave through the cafeteria doors when we heard a noise behind us.

We turned around and saw a group of girls (probably Sophomores.) giggling.

"Oh um hi..." The tallest of the three began before trailing off.

"Can we help you?" Cam snapped.

"Well,we've been trying to get our hair to look like either of yours for a while now and it just won't cooperate." The smallest of the lot said, still giggling.

In our school, Cam was mostly know for her hair. One day her hair could be the most vivid shade of neon pink and the next it could be orange as an actual orange. The best part was that she was able to pull all those colors off ridiculously well.

In my case,I had 2a type hair (very voluminous and wavy.) that was beautifully honey-blonde and as healthy as it was possible for hair to be. I wouldn't be surprised if we had the best hairs in the whole school.

"Sweeties, there are cancer patients with better hair." Cam began, "If we were you-and we're grateful we're not-we would stop trying." With that, she walked out of the cafeteria leaving the three girls standing there, embarrassment clear on their faces.

I offered the girls a small smile in order to soften the blow before going after my best friend.
