"I'm thinking of changing my hair color." Cam said, curling her neon orange hair round her index finger.
"You literally just changed it like, last week." I laughed at her.
"I know. I'll just have to wait for the dye to wash out." She sighed. Cam didn't use actual hair dyes. Oh no. If she did,she would have a head of straw, not hair. She used hair spray dyes. You know, those dyes in the form of hair sprays that wear off after a couple of weeks and leave your hair looking as healthy as it was before you used it.
"How does this look?" I asked, shoving my right foot under her nose so that she could inspect the black nail polish I had on my toe nails.
"Like a foot." She said lamely and I rolled my eyes at her. We were in her room getting our nails done by ourselves cause Cam was too cheap to spend her money getting French tips that she could do herself and, like the amazing best friend I was,I stayed with her.
"So,what's up with you and Leon?" Cam asked as she spread the midnight blue nail polish generously on the middle toe of her left foot.
"Nothing." I said simply and she sighed.
"Cam,I've known you since the moment you were born. You get that star struck look whenever you talk about or to a person you like and, unless I'm going blind, you definitely get that look around Leon." I pushed my head back into my neck, getting a slight double chin in the process.
"Well I guess you're going blind." I said and she chucked one of her pillows that had 'If You Don't Get My Harry Potter References,There Is Something Siriusly Ron With You' on it at me.
"Okay, okay! I'll talk!" I squealed and she finally stopped hitting me.
"Aww,you've messed up my nails." I sulked.
"Speak." She commanded and I spoke.
"Well,it's not that I like him per se,sure we hang out and talk once in a while but I'm pretty sure that's it." I cleaned up my ruined toe nails.
"Really. Now enough on me,let's talk about you. I heard Joseph has a thing for you." I said, giving her that cringe worthy wink that people reserved for their best friends.
"I know." She said, swiftly swiping the tips of her finger nails on the paint on her palm in order to get French tips like she learnt on Five Minute Crafts.
"And..." I urged.
"And nothing. He likes me,I don't like him."
"Oh come on Cam. Give him a chance. He's really really sweet and really into you."
"I know that and that's the thing. He's a Pisces." She hissed the last word like it was deadly. Cam was really into astrology and it was common knowledge that Pisces' and Gemini's didn't get along.
"So?"
"So he's a water sign. Water signs are too fucking emotional. I have enough shit to deal with already." She grunted as her French tips weren't coming out well.
"Cam,don't you think you're discriminating against signs?" I asked as I applied black nail polish unto my finger nails.
"Ugh I know! I'm becoming signist!" I refrained from pointing out that 'signist' wasn't an actual word.
"Just give him a chance. I mean,he's really cute. I'd totally tap that if I could." I said, blowing on my nails so they could dry quickly and Cam have me a look.
"I'm just going to pretend I didn't hear that. Anyways, what's up with Ashley?" She asked and my mood immediately became sour.
"Nothing." I grunted.
