"You thought my battery was gone?" Kris chuckled, "Well, I guess that explains why you didn't call back."

"It wasn't?" Ferrari asked, "I don't think any of us really asked what happened to you after that."

"No. Well, maybe it was, I wasn't paying too much attention, really. I'm not even sure if I was in possession of my phone at that point. I was just trying to figure out what was going on. I wanted to get back to you guys, but the most important thing was to make sure you were safe."

"Always so thoughtful," Destinee smiled and rested one hand on his knee, "That's why I love you so much."

"So where did you go?" Dwayne asked, "I think your story now is probably the biggest gap in what the rest of us know. I mean, I think the next time we saw you was in room four hundred and twenty again."

"Yeah, I'm not sure it's that interesting, though," Kris blushed a little, "I'd done my bit getting the key to Marco, and putting Landry and Rasputin on the wrong track. Now you had the key, you guys had the Box, and both groups were racing to meet up and decide whether to let the demon out." He nodded in the direction of Marco and Ferrari respectively as he spoke.

"It wasn't much of a decision," Dwayne grinned, "I'm not sure we ever had a choice, really."

"You made the right one in the end, though," Kris insisted, "That's the important thing."

"I'd still like to know what you were up to," Destinee said, "I bet it was something heroic, even from the shadows."

"Me too," her sister whispered, "The whole story?"

"With the request of two such charming ladies," Kris smiled, "How could I refuse?"
