III. THREE

THE MEETING

"DEAR DIARY. THIS MORNING IS DIFFERENT. THERE'S CHANGE. I CAN SENSE IT. FEEL IT. FOR ONCE I DON'T REGRET THE DAY BEFORE IT BEGINS. Because I know I will see him again,"Ava sighed out, closing the journal within her lap as she looked up. "Wow. How touching." Elena scoffed, ripping her journal out of her twin's grip as a smirk was placed upon Ava's lips. "There's privilege in me allowing you to read my journal," Elena states, placing the book within her safe spot.

"Privilege that I am grateful for," Ava states in a sarcastic yet heartfelt tone, resulting in her being pushed out of Elena's room. The morning was all too quiet for Ava Gilbert, as the faint sounds of AC/DC was not heard from Jeremy's bedroom. "Peculiar," she thought. As the twins were about to depart, Jenna caught the two in an instant. "Do I look adult? As in respectfully parental?" she asked.

"Depends where you're going." "Jeremy's parent-teacher conference. Hair up or down?" the guardian retorts. "Sexy stewardess," Elena states as Jenna pulled her hair up in a bun. "Boozy housewife," Ava adds, as Jenna's hair falls on her shoulders. "Up it is." Jenna scoffed. "You both are feisty today."

"I guess we both feel good today. And we are going with the flow, ignoring all the bad thoughts. You know, staying in the sunshine, or walking on sunshine... Whatever that saying is," the young brunette remarks, peering into her brother's bedroom to see it empty. "Where is Jeremy?" She asked. "He left early. Something about getting to wood shop early to finish a birdhouse," Jenna explained, earning wary looks from both Elena and Ava.

"There is no wood shop, is there?" Jenna questioned. "No." "Yeah." Ava watched distinctly as her aunt slowly walked into the bathroom for touch ups, leaving the twins alone. "He's visiting her isn't he?" Elena questioned her sister. "Where else would he be?" Ava admits with a sigh.

"Originally discovered nearly 5 centuries ago, it hasn't been over Mystic Falls in over 145 years," Tanner lectured to the class. "Now, the comet will be its brightest right after dusk during tomorrow's celebration. Are we bothering you, Mr.Salvatore? Ms Gilbert?" He questioned the two teenagers, as their heart eyed gazing could be seen from a mile away. The class's gaze switched from the front board, towards Elena and Stefan, as Elena shook her head with a sheepish smile.

"Stefan and Elena gazed into each other's eyes," Oliver muttered in a deep, raspy tone, mocking some sort of movie narrator. "It felt as if they were the only ones in the room. For the first time in a long time, she felt free again," Ava adds in a whisper as her tone changed as well. The commentary from the two best friends could only be heard from Elena, earning them glares and paper being thrown at them by her.
