AVA FIDDLED with her fingers as she was seated at the Sheriff's station. It was a nervous habit she had developed at the age of 5. She remembers the day as if it was yesterday. It was the first day of kindergarten and she was separated from Elena for classes. She fiddled with her fingers the entire time as they called names, and that is when a certain brunette hair boy sat beside her and distracted her. That little boy was Oliver Lockwood.

She smiled at the memory.

"Stop that," Elena whispered to her twin. "You know I can't," Ava whispered back, which didn't go unnoticed by the officers around us. "Ava Gilbert?" Sheriff Forbes called the younger twin into her office, as Jeremy walked out with a shrug. "Good luck." He mouthed to her, before taking a seat with Elena.

Ava sat down, sitting beside her guardian.

"Good morning, Ava." The familiar face of Sheriff Forbes, more known as Miss Forbes to the Gilbert clan, greets the brunette. "Good morning, Sheriff." Ava smiled back at her. "Let's get started."

"Where did Vicki say she was going?"

"She didn't..." Ava said.

"Did she tell her brother where she was going?"

"No," Ava answered a little too quickly. "Um-well. She didn't say anything to Matt, is what I know of." Jenna placed a hand on top of Ava's as she caught sight of Ava fiddling with her fingers. "She just told Jeremy to tell Matt she was leaving town."

"Well, is there anyone I can talk to that May know what happened to her prior to her leaving town?" Sheriff asked. "I don't. I'm sorry." "What was Stefan doing? Matt said he came by earlier to talk to Vicki."

"He was trying to help her. He knew that Elena and I were worried about Jeremy. Jeremy was dating Vicki and she had a drug problem. He tried to help the best way he could."

"So Stefan got involved because you and Elena asked him to?" "Yes. We asked him to help. We thought that by helping Vicki he was helping our brother."

"And what was her behavior like those last few days before she left?"

"Normal...I guess?"
