Damn, could that boy sing.
When he'd started playing Invisible, I nearly died from excitement. Hunter Hayes was my favorite artist; it also helped that he was hot. But suddenly, I liked Damian's version of the song better. He sang it with such emotion that I just had to sing along. Of course I knew every word so that wasn't an issue.
I was laying on my bed, still replaying Damian's performance in the coffee shop we'd gone to, The Corner Brew. I could still hear the words escaping his lips and I couldn't help but feel like he'd been singing for me. Not for the entire crowd, but just for me. As if I'd been the only one in the coffee shop.
"Allie."
The sound of Bree's voice pulled me out of my day dreaming. I looked up to see her standing in my doorway, staring at me. She was giving me a knowing look, as if she could see inside my head. I couldn't help but blush at that, even though I knew it wasn't true. So what if I was thinking about Damian? It's not like we were together. But it's still kinda early to be freaking out over a guy. I chose to ignore the voice inside my head.
"Are you gonna eat dinner? The fridge is stocked with all kinds of stuff. Plus there's a huge freezer in the lobby with frozen meals and pizzas and stuff."
"Pizza sounds good. Let's go pick one out."
I crawled out of bed and followed her out the door. When we got to the lobby, I found the freezer and started digging. Oooo, jackpot. I pulled out the large meatlover's pizza I'd just found. I turned to Bree smiling.
"Bingo."
She smiled back and nodded her head quickly. Our decision made, we returned to our room and put the delicious food in the oven, waiting the fifteen minutes for it to cook. When it was done, I cut it up and passed Bree a slice. I plopped down on the couch beside her and started flipping the channels on the TV. I found one playing Cabin In The Woods and left it there.
The night would've been peaceful if Bitch 1 and Bitch 2 hadn't shown up. But they did. They walked in and immediately looked at me with disgust. I just smiled and waved as if they were the friendliest people on earth. Megan glared at me. Then she caught sight of what I was eating.
"What IS that?"
She was pointing at my piece of pizza as if she'd never seen one before. Judging by her attitude, it wouldn't surprise me if she hadn't. I just lifted it up and waved it in her face, allowing her to smell all of the meaty glory.
"That, is called a large meatlover's pizza. You know, food, for people who actually eat."
She just rolled her eyes and stomped into her room with Sarah trailing behind her. I just laughed and turned my attention back to the movie. My favorite part was coming up and I didn't want to miss it. Just my luck, my phone chimed before I could see it. Grumbling, I pulled out my phone to find a text from a number I didn't recognize. Out of pure curiosity, I opened it.
From:(312)482-9375
Hey.
I stared at my phone confused. I was debating whether to reply or not when it hit me. The only person I'd given my number to without getting their's in return was Damian. This had to be him. Without a second thought, I replied.
To:(312)482-9375
Hey. Damian?
I locked my phone and returned my gaze to the TV, internally waiting for a reply. I didn't have to wait long because almost as soon as the phone left my hand, it chimed again. I picked it up and read the text.
From:(312)482-9375
No. It's the President.-_- Of course it's Damian.
I rolled my eyes at his text. Of course he'd be able to sound sarcastic even through text. I was about to save his number in my phone when it was suddenly snatched from hands. Bree was staring at the screen and her face broke into a smirk.
"Texting Damian, are we? I should totally embarrass you right now."
Before I could stop her, she typed something out and sent it. She then proceeded to save his number. Finally she locked my phone and placed it on the table in front of me. I reached for it but she slapped my hand and continued to do so every time I attempted to grab it. When it chimed, she grabbed it before I could, smiling at whatever Damian had said in response to her text.
"God, Bree. What did you say?"
"Look for yourself."
I took my phone from her and read the text she had sent him. I groaned and covered my eyes with my hand. Her text was really not something I'd say. It read "Great, because you're hot. You should come to my dorm because I'm horny and want some fun. Room 520. ;)" His response was just made it worse, "Seems a little early for that but if you're down I am too;)" God, I needed to fix this situation, now. And change his name in my phone, which Bree had put in as <3HotStuff<3.
To:<3HotStuff<3
God, please ignore that last text. Bree stole my phone. I'm not like that I swear.
I bounced slightly in my seat, nervously awaiting his reply. Hopefully Bree hadn't screwed this up for me before I really got a chance to know him. Thankfully, his reply saved me from dying of worry.
From:<3HotStuff<3
I didn't think you were like that. Don't worry. Besides my reply was a joke. Girls like that tend to piss me off.
I breathed a sigh of relief and slumped against the back of the couch, glad that he didn't take that the wrong way. I really didn't want to screw this up, not sure why though. I just had this feeling the he could be more than just a friend to me. The odd thing was, I'd been saying for the past six months that I didn't want a relationship with anyone. But Damian made me wonder how long I'd keep saying that before he changed my mind.
