Ya know, it took me a minute or two for what happened to sink in. She ran. She ran like I was the plague. I just felt everything crash around me.

Why did she run? All I did was ask for a date. It's not like I confessed my undying love and proposed. I just wanted to get closer to her because she was an amazing girl and I wanted to see if we could possibly be more in the future. But she ran.

Once it all registered fully, I ran after her. I ran as fast as I could , but I was too late. She had somehow run fast enough to disappear. That, or I was too slow in my decision to follow her. Either way, she was gone.

I felt anger bubble in my chest. Anger at her, anger at the world, but mostly anger at myself. How could I be so stupid to think that she would say yes to a date? Especially with me?

My anger got the better of me and I began punching trees. I just hit wildly, not caring that my knuckles were now bleeding. I didn't care anymore. I was angry and it was flowing from me to the trees through my fists.

Soon, punching wasn't enough. I started grabbing rocks and throwing them. I grabbed sticks and smacked them against the trees and ground. I knew I looked barbaric, but I didn't care.

By the time I regained focus, the area within a ten foot radius of me was destroyed. Sticks were broken, rocks were scattered, and blood from my knuckles was on the trees. My breathing was heavy and my hands were swollen, probably broken. I had really lost control.

I sighed and walked to my bike, ignoring my throbbing hands. The pain was settling in as my angry adrenaline died down, replaced with shame and sadness. She rejected me and I lost my cool.

I tried to grab the handlebars of my bike and cringed, hissing as pain shot up my arm. Of course... Good going Damian. I scolded myself internally. I reached into my pocket, cringing again, and grabbed my phone. To my surprise, I had a text from Allie from ten minutes ago.

        From: Allie~

        I'm so sorry, Damian. :(

As much as I hate to admit it, I felt a prick in my eyes. I kept my face blank as I replied.

        To: Allie~

Just don't worry about it. I understand. See you around I guess.

My chest felt heavy as I hit send. Without even waiting for a reply. I hit the call button on Ty's contact and prepared for the onslaught of questions from my homosexual friend.

"Where the hell are you?!" I held the phone away from my ear as Ty's loud voice came through the phone. God damn, he was loud.

I sighed. "I'll tell you later, bro. Can you come pick me up at the edge of the woods?"

"What about your bike?" The confusion in his voice was obvious.

"I can't really use my hands very well. I'll explain later. Can you come and get me or not?"

        "Yeah, but-"

"Thanks man." I cut him off and hung up the phone, placing my phone back in my pocket with a wince. I sat on my bike to wait for Ty to show up in his dark grey Mercedes.

Withing 15 minutes, I heard the rumble of the luxury car's engine. Ty pulled up and parked long enough for me to get in. He drove off as soon as I buckled in.

We weren't even in the car a full two minutes before he began questioning me. "So why did you just leave so suddenly, earlier? Dylan, Mitchell, and I were curious and even worried- well Mitchell and I were: Dylan didn't care very much."

"I was with Allie at CB. We talked and had coffee, then I showed her my lake." I hesitated before continuing. "I asked her on a date for Saturday."

Tyler's eyes lit up happily and he let out a girlish squeal, exclaiming, "Oh that's wonderful! It took you long enough! I mean, yeah, it's only been a week, but still!" He finally noticed my grim expression and asked, "What's wrong?"

I sighed. "She ran. She said no and ran away, so I snapped and kinda went berserk." Tyler glanced down and gasped, finally noticing my swollen hands. By now, they had gotten to twice their normal size and were a sickly blue-ish purple color, covered in a bit of dried blood.

"Damian! We need to get you to a hospital!"

"No, Ty. I'm fine. We can go later. For now let's get back to the dorm."

His mouth sealed into a thin line and we drove in silence, a surefire sign of when Ty is upset. I hated when he got like this, but I knew that trying to talk to him would invoke his Asian wrath(What? I may be depressed, but I still have a sense of humor).

We pulled into the parking lot and got out, walking up the steps. My hands were still throbbing, but I ignored it. Ty opened the door and I followed close behind. There, sitting on the couch, her face covered in tears, was the last person I wanted to see.

        "Well shit...."
