Liam's POV:

The last couple of days in New York Gracie spent her time with Zachary hiding out in the hotels spa, running up one hell of a bill,  but as Zachary had said "Gracie deserved it after the last few days" so I didn't argue and left them to have fun. I also followed Zachary's advice about my fans on twitter, I made it clear to them they had upset someone very dear to my heart and therefore it hurt me, I then deactivate my account. I warned the fans and apologised to those who had been nothing but supportive.

With Gracie hiding away with her friend she was oblivious to all the drama my action had caused. I didn't care, my daughter was more important nowadays.

When we left to head back to England, it was on a high note; everyone was excited to return home for many of different reasons. Gracie's was obvious; she couldn't wait to see my parents. Zachary’s declaration was saddening because it wasn't to do with his family, but it got Gracie interest.

"I'm rather looking forward to the firework display in London. I haven't been for a few years."

Gracie gasped with pure horror.

"Why ... you would be excited watch the to night of war!" Gracie spluttered out mixing her words up.

"Say that again, but slowly this time!" I instructed her.

"Why would anyone be excited to watch the war?"

I was utterly confused now.

"What are you on about girl?" Zachary questioned his friend.

"I'm not stupid, I know firework night is just a nice way of saying it's the night of war. I've heard the bangs, I know there’re bombs."

"Gracie, fireworks aren't bombs!" Niall chuckled.

She tilted her head questioningly;

"Why would you think they were bombs?" Harry enquired.

"Because that's what they are. It happens every November 5th; Daddy would hide me in the basement while he went out to fight in the big city."

Zachary scoffed:

"Of course, it HAD to be some crazy ass shit your daddy told you."

"Zachary!!" I scolded.

"So daddy didn't fight at war?" Gracie mumbled.

"Gracie, November 5th is not 'war night'" Niall soothed.

"I guess I was an idiot as usual, for believing him" Gracie said, shyly bowing her head.

I got up from my seat and knelt down in front of Gracie, I lifter her chin up to connected our eyes.

"You are not an idiot Sweetie. You were hidden from so many things in the world and they used that to scare you with such stories. You were just a little girl, they were your supposed parents, and you had every reason to believe them. It does not make you an idiot. Do you understand me Gracie?"

I wiped away a stray tear on Gracie's cheek:

"I love you Gracie!" I added.

Gracie then sat up squaring her shoulders, I sensed she wasn't going to wallow over the situation; I was correct. As always she was hungry for information:

"So what is it really? What really happens on November 5th? What are the loud bangs?"

"Fireworks Love!" Louis replied.
