*Stan's POV*

I walked into the jewelry store, a little bell going off as I did so. The chiming alerted a girl I was here. Her dirty blonde hair bounched as she looked up at me and smiled.

"Hello sir, my name is Emily Parker. Can I help you?"

"Yes, I'm looking for a wedding ring."

"Oh," the girl behind the register, Emily, said and walked over to me. "I can help you find one!"

She led me to another part of the store and over to a sea of diamond rings. I smiled to myself and started to search for the perfect one.

"So who's the special lady?" Emily asked. I could feel my cheeks heat up.

"The special man is my boyfriend of 6 years. We've been dating since we were sophomores, and I want to spend the rest of my life with him." I said, starting to blush.

"Awesome!" Emily smiled at me. I'm glad she's not homophobic, that wouldn't have been good... "I have a girlfriend actually, Ruby. So we're in the same boat."

"Oh, cool." I grinned back at her as she moved to another section of rings.

"These rings are just bands, or they have smaller diamonds all over. If you think that's something your boyfriend would prefer over one large diamonds."

"Yeah, probably," I said and looked over the rings.

There was one that caught my eye. It was curved and shaped in the middle, with a border of small diamonds surrounding the edge. The center was a rose gold color with slightly larger, spaced out diamonds. It was...perfect.

There was another ring close by. It was that same goldish color, but it was a solid band, unlike the first. I could practically see Bill placing it on my finger at the alter.

I felt tears swarm my eyes. This was it. These were our rings. I'm actually going to propose to Bill.

I turned to Emily, who was smiling softly at my reaction.

"By your expression, I'm going to assume you found the right ring?"

"I think so," I said and pointed to the rings. "How much are both of those?"

"Together, the total should be..." she paused to calculate the combined price. "$1,719.00"

If this was anything else, I would've bolted for the door. That's a lot of money, especially because I'm still searching for a new job. My old boss fired me for being gay, but I still have a year's worth of salaries.

If this was just a random thing, I would've left. But it's not. It's for Bill.

He's given me the entire world, so a little over 15 hundred dollars isn't much in comparison. I love him too much to let the money matter. It's not like I'm going to go broke, there just can't be any vacations for a little while.

I sighed and turned back to Emily, who was waiting patiently for my response.

"I'll take them."

"You spent 1,700 DOLLARS on these?!" Bev screeched. "Bitch, they're amazing rings, but that's excessive."

"I don't care. Bill's more important than any amount of money." I said and closed the small black box in my hand.

"I think they're really gorgeous, Stan," Eddie commented. "Bill's going to love it."

"Thanks," I grinned. "I think so too."
