⚠ talk about abuse, talk about conversion therapy, Dan ⚠
If anyone has seen John Mulaney, think about the Batman nurse while reading this chapter
*Eddie's POV*
As soon as Emily and Ruby left, Richie turned to me.
"Wh-who Dr. H-Hartley?" Richie asked immediately. He's not talking as well, which is usually a sign that he's pissed, upset or angry.
"Rich..." I sighed. "He's nobody, it's fine."
"E-Eds, who is h-he?" Richie said firmly. I flinched a little, turning away from him.
"He was my doctor growing up Richie...please just drop it." I pleaded.
"Th-th-therapy. Your mom said th-that therapy n-not work. What happen?"
"Nothing happened, love." I sighed.
"C-conversion?" Richie asked quietly. "Sonia didn't w-want you to be g-gay. Tried to change y-you...?"
I bit my lip and nodded. "Yeah... Sonia would work with Dr. Hartley to try and 'fix me'..."
"Why n-not tell us?"
"You'd judge me..." I whispered, holding back tears.
"N-never would Eds. I'm g-gonna love you no m-matter what baby. You're p-perfect." Richie smiled at me, starting to tear up a little.
I smiled softly at Richie and hopped out of the bed, quickly moving into Richie's. I cuddled into his arms and nuzzled into his chest.
"You kn-know what I got B-Bill to bring to me?" Richie learned over the side of the bed, towards his bag. I heard things being shuffled around, then Richie popped back up.
I stared at the small, yellow box for a second before gasping.
"The MPMan..." I smiled at Richie. He grinned back at me and was about to press play when a nurse walked into the room.
"Mr. Kaspbrak, Mr. Tozier. Daniel Pennwell is here to see you."
*Stan's POV*
"Stan!" Bill gasped. "Holy fuck, I was so freaked out...are you ok?"
I looked over my bandages and bruises. "Never better, babe." I said sarcastically.
Bill smiled softly and ran his hand through my hair. A shot of pain went through my skull and I grimaced. Bill quickly pulled his hand away.
"Sorry, love..." He apologized with an embarrassed blush.
"What happened?" Ben asked quietly. "I only talked to Bev about what happened to her, not to anyone else."
"Dan tried to shoot me when he found me." I blurted out. "I moved out of the way, so he only nagged my side a little. But it did make me pass out for most of the time there. Dan probably hit me and tossed me around, but I don't think he...raped me...or anything like that."
Bill bit his lip and looked over at me sympathetically, kissing my forehead.
"But you're safe now. He's not going to hurt you anymore." Bill smiled.
A nurse I hadn't seen yet briskly walked into the room.
"H-hello guys, um, someone's here to see you," she laughed nervously. "Daniel Pennwell is in the hospital, and he'll be visiting your room in a little bit."
*Richie's POV*
As soon as I heard his name come out of that nurse's mouth, I put a protective arm around Eddie's shoulder.
"No," I growled at the nurse. "D-don't fucking l-let him in here."
"I don't want to, trust me. I don't even want him here in this hospital," she rolled her eyes and glared at Dan as he walked in. "But it's court orders."
Behind Dan, 3 lawyers with clipboards and giant books walked in.
"Alrighty guys!" One of them smiled. "Isn't this just a lovely day for an abuse trial?"
Eddie looked at me, frowning slightly and holding onto my arm tightly.
"N-no, it's not." I sighed. "B-but I want th-that asshole in jail a-as soon as p-p-possible."
"Tozier, I can't h-h-hear you over that st-st-stutter." Dan laughed.
"It's because of y-you, you f-f-fuc-"
"Alrighty, let's get on to the case, shall we?" A different lawyer said, nervously laughing. She sat down on a chair next to the bed, the two lawyers following her.
Dan stayed in the same spot. He kept glaring at Eddie, who was starting to shake.
"Sooooo Edward, wh-" The third lawyer started.
"Eddie," I said quickly. "His n-name is Eddie."
"Alrighty, Eddie it is!" He smiled. "My name's Gary, this is Jill and Todd."
Ew. I thought to myself. White people names...then again we're Richard and Edward...
"And we're Dan's court-appointed lawyers!" Jill grinned.
"Wait, you're on his side?" Eddie's eyes widened. "What about us, don't we get a lawyer?"
"You do, she's just not here yet," Todd smiled. God, these people smile too much to be working on an abuse and murder attempt case.
"Alright! I am too blessed to be stressed!" Jill, again, SMILED and took out a form. "We need proof of all the accusations for Dan."
"Ok...eye witnesses are the police that busted Dan, and there were some people who called the cops for me." Eddie started. "They gave me their numbers, so we can call them."
"Y-yeah, and I h-have brain scans from when D-Dan shot me." I added.
"Dan, you shot Richard?!" Todd gasped. "That's a naughty thing to do!"
"And what do we say when we do a naughty thing?" Gary said.
Dan glared at me and started swaying and singing in a monotone voice.
"I'm Dan and I was wrong. I'm singing the Dan-wrong song. I shouldn't have shot you in the head...um...but I wish that you were dead!"
Jill, Gary and Todd glanced at each other nervously before turning to Dan.
"Close enough!" Gary smiled and looked at us. "It says here that Dan...'carved into your back, stomach and sides'?"
Dan's eyes popped open.
"What?! I swear to God, I've never done that. I love Eddie so fucking much, I'd never hurt him." He cried.
Tears fell down his cheeks quickly and Jill, Gary and Todd looked at him sympathetically.
"We believe you Danny." Todd smiled and put his hand on Dan's shoulder.
"You believe him?! No no no..." Eddie said, getting up from the bed and wincing in pain. He quickly pulled his arms out of the hospital gown and let it fall to just below his waist.
Scars marked up and down his body. Mostly white lines that were tracing his stomach, arms and, of course, his back.
The giant letters stood out like a zebra in a field of leopards.
'Dan's Property'
Eddie turned to Dan. "You fucked up my life Daniel Pennwell. I will never, EVER forgive you."
He put his gown back on and climbed into my bed again. I kissed his forehead and put my arm around his shoulder.
"Goodness gracious..." Todd sighed. "How did you two even meet?"
Dan smirked at Eddie, giving up the good guy act.
"It all started when this little bitch walked into a comic book store."
