💿Chapter 24💿

Annies POV:
I don't know if I can read this. That's the date I found out Caleb passed away. I've blocked so much out from that I can't even remember what happened besides that he passed. I begin to read.
" 10/01/15
Dear whoever finds this,
Today is probably the worst day of my entire my life. My brother. My best friend. My life has passed away. I don't know why God would want to take him away from his family and friends.
   I remember just how it happened. Me, Katie, and Hayley were doing our homework. My mom just made us dinner and was calling us all down. Caleb was in his room doing only god knows what. Us girls cane down the stairs and say at the Island as my mom goes downstairs to Caleb's room.
   Next thing I know, My mom is screaming for my dad and we all look at eachother. My dad runs down the stairs and I hear them screaming and freaking out. I tell Katie and Hayley to stay up stairs as I run downstairs to see what's going on.
  I look in his room and see my mom sobbing on the phone and my dad giving Caleb CPR. My mom sees me and points her finger to go back upstairs. I nearly fall for how fast I ran up the stairs to the kitchen. I collapse into Katie and Hayleys arms as I sob.
  We hear the Ambulance siren and I knew it was time for him to go. Katie and Hayley kept trying to ask me what happened. But the paramedics rushed into the house with a stretcher and brought Bubba up on it. He was pale. I ran toward him trying to get him up. My mommy and dad pushed me off of him. That was the last time I saw him before the funeral.
My friend Katie Donnelly, gave me this diary for my birthday last year. I've never wrote in it until now. I'm going to keep writing in it to express my feelings without letting them out to the world.
I wish God took me. I wish he would just take me instead of Caleb. Caleb Logan doesn't deserve to be away from his family. Well he does have David..but that's besides the point. I need you Bubba. I really do need you. I'm afraid I can't live without you here.
I can't stop crying. I locked myself in my bedroom. Hayley is in her room crying too. I would go in there with her but she just looks soo much like bubba and it will hurt me even more.
Mommy and Daddy are fighting downstairs. Out of all of the days they chose to fight, they chose this day. Heading them fight makes this situation 10x worse.
I'm gonna try and get some rest and pray to god that I won't wake up tomorrow. If there isn't another page, you know why. If I wake up tomorrow, I'll write another entry. Signing off.

"Oh my gosh." I say wiping the tears away. I just couldn't believe this. All of these memories came flushing back to my brain as I read.  I really wish I never read this. I just keep seeing Caleb on the stretcher. Pale. Cold. Not breathing.
There's a knock at my door. I hurry up and put the diary under my bed and go over to the door to see who it is. I open it and see that it's Kenzie and Lauren.
"ANNIE!!" They both screamed coming into my room and hugging me.
"What are you guys doing here?" I asked them confused and letting go of the hug.
"We haven't seen you in a long time and miss you so much so we are gonna start coming over more often." Kenzie says smiling.
"But only if you want us to." Lauren says reassuring me.
"Of course!!" I say hugging them back.
"I'm really sorry I haven't been around that much. It's just with school and I finally got a job.." Kenzie begins to say.
"No it's fine. I've been hanging with Asher." I say starting to blush.
"Ooo tell us everything!!" They both said in sync.
"Jinx"
"Jinx again."
"You owe me a come."
"Omg guys!! That reminds me of old times!!!" I say happily.
"Omg yesss!!" Kenzie reply's.
"Aw I miss old times." Lauren says looking down.
"Me too." I reply.
"Me three." Kenz says. We all laugh and have a good time. I haven't had this much fun with these girls in sooo long. We talked about drama at school that I missed out on, boys, new jobs, petty girls, my life, and a lot about Asher.
"So seems like Asher is perfect for you huh?" Lauren asks wiggling her eyebrows and elbowing me. I hit her with a pillow.
"Oh come on...stop" I say blushing.
"SHES BLUSHING!!" Kenzie says jumping home and down.
"He really is the one for you isn't he?" Lauren says smiling.
"I guess..." I say shyly.
"Be quiet Annie. We know he is." Kenz says in a duh tone.
The rest of the night we caught up with each other's lives, had a dance party, sang karaoke, ate tons of junk food, and stayed up all night. We had a blast. I finally check my phone. I haven't touched it since they girls came.
There were so many miss calls and texts from Asher. Oh no. I hope anything happened. I excuse myself from the conversation and go into my bathroom for more privacy to text Asher.

Good afternoon.
Annie how are you feeling?
Are you okay?
You haven't answered my calls or texts...
Ann's?
Yo are you okay?!?!
I'm gonna come over.
Wait you might be busy..I'll try later.
It's been 8 hours...I need to know you are okay. - ashy baby 🥵

I'm sorry I'm just seeing this now.. I'll FaceTime you. - princess 😍🥴

Oh okay you worried me. - ashy baby 🥵

Face time call:
"Asher?" I ask almost in a whisper since it's 5 am.
"Annie?!?! Why haven't you answered any of my calls or texts?!?! I thought something happened." He says looking like he hasn't slept all night.
"I'm sorry. Kenz and Lauren stopped over for the first time in weeks and we have been hanging out all night. I haven't even touched my phone..." I begin to say.
"It's okay Ann's. Just warn me next time so I don't have to worry. If you weren't gonna call or text me in less than 20 minutes, I was gonna come to your house..." Asher says still looking concerned.
"Asher you can come later if you would like. Please go back to bed and get some rest." I say almost in a whisper.
"Oh okay whatever you say. Goodnight beautiful. Also what time should I come over?" He asks yawning.
"You look so cute when you yawn and whenever you want....goodnight baby." I say blushing.
"I love you." He says smiling at me.
"I love you infinity. Now get some rest." I say ending the call. I go back to the room and Lauren is braiding Kenzie's Hair.
"Oh you are back? Who were you talking to?" Lauren asks tying the braid with a hair tie.
"Asher." I say sitting on my bed.
"Oooooo spill!!" Kenzie almost screams.
"Well he was just worried that I didn't text or call him since earlier today. He thought something happened I guess and was ready to come over here..." I begin to say.
"You literally have a keeper." Lauren says starting the braid on the other side of Kenz's head.
"For real." Kenzie says scrolling though Instagram.
"So like why did you two just show up? What about Lilia, Jayden, and Anna?" I ask them. I totally forgot to ask them this question.
"Well we really haven't talked to them since you started homeschooling." Kenz says putting a handful of golf fish in her mouth.
"Why not? Also that's a mood." I say laughing.
"Well I'm not really sure why tbh." Lauren says shrugging her shoulders.
"We have all been busy though." Kenzie points out.
"I mean that's true but are they just ignoring you guys?" I ask.
"Yeah.." they both said while sighing.
"Well let's watch a movie and maybe go to bed or just cuddle." I say turning my tv back on.
"Okay just wait until I tie this hair tie around this braid.....okay done!" Lauren says jumping into my bed laying towards the wall, I'm in the middle, and Kenz lays on the next side of me. We put the covers on and lay close to eachother. I put Coco on since it's the first movie that popped up on Netflix and we all ended up falling asleep.
