The Princess Choice

Chapter 1

"Majesty..."

The king looked up with a huge smile "It's a girl, my King..."

"Thank God all mighty and my queen?" the king smiled looking up at the maid standing before him. She could see the love and devotion in his eyes. Everyone knew just how much the king truly loved his queen it was the love that fairytales were made of. 

"Good, my king a little tired but good my king she truly is amazing." The maid smiled widely so proud of the strength the queen had shown during labor.

"Good, Nancy may I go in now?" he smiled rising from his chair.

"Yes, majesty please go on right ahead." She bowed as he raised and moved to the side.

The king stepped into his bedroom, and his breath caught. He felt tears sting his eyes. His mother smiled looking at her, son she saw the emotion in his eyes and clapped her hands. "Everyone... please step out now..." the king's mother smiled and followed everyone placing her hand on her sons' chest "Congratulations my King, your daughter is absolutely perfect, and your wife is extremely beautiful and brave." She kissed his cheek feeling so much pride in the family her son had created and fought for. 

"Thank you, mother..." he kissed her cheek and held her hand for a second trying to make his eyes convey just how much he loved and appreciated everything she did for him. Then he turned to his wife. "Now let me meet my princess and kiss my brave queen."

The king walked up to his queen "My king..." she smiled softly up at him a twinkle in her eyes "Edward, come meet our beautiful little princess, my love." she said thru the emotions threatening to spill out. 

He kissed his queen "Hello princess Annalise Isabella Cornelian you are truly beautiful... Thank you, Elizabeth, my sweet Eli thank you for giving me such a beautiful daughter."

"I love you, Eddie, with all my heart..." she smiled wide at him the tears spilling out of the corners of her eyes that were filled with so much love. 

"When you are ready my queen the maids will ready you both; the whole kingdom is ready to meet you both..." his chest swelled with pride.

"Yes, my love..." she smiled and kissed his cheek. "Promise me, my king you will always take care of her..." the queen looked at her daughter "Promise me she will be happy, healthy, and know nothing but love." she kissed her daughter's nose softly. 

"My queen always... you do not even have to ask I will always guard you both with my life I love you both more than words can describe." he kissed his daughter on the forehead and pulled his wife and kissed her lips with all the passion in the world almost lighting up the world on fire around them. 

"Good my King... ask the maids to come in please my love, and we can go out."

....

"Come here, my princess... walk to your daddy." Edward laughed, watching Annalise struggle in Elizabeth's arms as she tried to walk to her dad. This girl was all daddy's girl where her dad went she watched and cried to follow. She had already sat in on parliament hearings because otherwise she would cry being away from her dad's arms and nothing made Edward happier and his queen's heart filled with more and more love each day watching the love and bond her two favorite people shared. 

"Daddy!"

"Yes, my princess "Come to daddy..."

Annalise giggled looking at her dad and squeezed her hands trying to get to her dad for him to pick her up. He laughed and pulled her into his arms, kissing her nose. He spun her around and pulled Elizabeth into his arms "I am truly the happiest man in the world surrounded by the most beautiful women I have ever seen." he kissed his wife with so much love trying to convey to her how much he truly loved her and their princess. 

"My King!" a guard ran in covered in sweat "They are here!" the guard's eyes held stea,dy but the king could see the fear in the back. 

The king felt the queen in his arms stiffen, and his princess look around confused as she heard the breaths of those around her catch feeling disturbed by the panic she began sniffling.

"Get the men in the foyer ready... and my weapons... I will follow." he felt his heart beat a bit faster at the idea of his queen and princess being hurt. 

He bowed and ran out as Edward turned to Elizabeth. "Elizabeth... go into the hiding room my queen, take our princess and go hide, please. Be safe, and I will come and take you out."

"Promise me, Edward... promise me that you will come back for us... you have to teach her how to run this kingdom and how to be a good queen, my love." The queen looked at him with tears running down her cheeks with so much fear and adrenaline coursing thru her. 

"I promise, Elizabeth, now get in there, and I will come back to you both, come hell or high water." He kissed Elizabeth and then kissed Annalise's cheek "I love you, my princess."

....

"My queen... please open up..."

"No, I will not repeat myself either the king comes, or I do not open the door."

"My queen, please open up, and we will take you to the king." the guard could hear the pain in the queen's voice she would not believe that the king was alive because he had not gone for her yet. 

"No!" Elizabeth felt tears dripping down her face "He comes, or I do not get out!" she felt panic rising in her heart as she held a sleeping Annalise with her hands shaking.

"It has been a week sir, and he is not waking up, and the queen won't stop crying or come out." The guards looked at the maids "What do we do?"

....

"My queen?"

"Sir she won't come out of the hiding room she has everything she needs, but it has been four weeks, and she says she won't come out until..."

The king jumped out of bed and flinched as the pain radiated out of him, and he began limping thru the halls, screaming "My queen! Elizabeth!"

"Edward!' he heard thru the wall.

"Open up my queen, please!" he begged into the wall, almost tasting the despair his queen was radiating. he knew they could not survive without each other she was born a commoner and feared her role without him so she hid and he could not blame her because if it was reversed, he would be dead already. 

Elizabeth threw the door open and threw herself into Edward "You are okay?"

He flinched, and she jumped back "I will be my queen I promise..."
