The Princess Choice

Chapter 2

"Princess, everyone is waiting for you downstairs..."

"Daddy... I am not ready to meet the prince and his father, daddy." Annalise lowered her head looking down and biting her lips feeling fear in her heart.

"Nothing will ever happen to you as long as I am alive... that I can promise you, my princess. Remember this is your special day you only turn fifteen once my love, and there is no one out there who could ever outshine you, my girl." He kissed her forehead "For all, we know princess his son is nothing like him." he smiled at her daughter understanding her fear but knowing he would have to die for someone to ever come near hurting her. 

"Why does he hate us so..." Annalise looked at her dad confused.

"He believes we killed his wife and we have given him proof that we did not, but he wants chaos and war darling." he looked at his daughter worried that she would panic "My brave strong girl you have this don't worry about it, I will be there and so will everyone else, my princess." he kissed her hair. 

"Okay, daddy..." Annalise took a turn and looked in the mirror, confused. She was wearing a red gown and her tiara.

"Don't worry my Annalise everything will resolve itself and you look magnificent... Now let us go your mother is waiting for us, and you know that a queen should never be made to wait." He smiled wide knowing that would make his daughter giggle. 

"Yes, my king, I know..." Annalise giggled with a dramatic curtsy.

"My Annalise, my sweet girl you look beautiful." Elizabeth pulled Annalise into a hug and fixed her tiara kissing her temple and then kissing her husband's lips. "Perfection!" she smiled wide.

"We are ready whenever you are ready your majesty..." the Duke smiled looking at the royal family with so much love they truly were so kind and filled with love.

"Then you may announce us, Duke Lucas." The king smiled at his most loyal companion.

"Yes, my king." He stepped thru the door and cleared his throat, and the room went silent. "Ladies and gentlemen please if I may have your attention we will like to present his majesty King Edward Matthew of Cornelian his beautiful queen Elizabeth of Cornelian and our most gracious princess, Princess Annalise Isabella of Cornelian our magnificent birthday girl!"

The king and queen walked in, and then princess Annalise entered where her parents waited for her at the stairs then the king walked both ladies one on each arm with a very proud smile on his face, eyes filled with love.

After Annalise had been there for a while with her parents she turned to her dad "May I go with the ladies?" she said her eyes shining with excitement. 

"Of course, Annalise it is fine go but stay near I will call you over to meet some people coming with the king..."

Annalise smiled and curtsied and walked over to her ladies-in-waiting.

"Princess Annalise." the ladies in waiting smiled hugely as they curtsied.

"Ladies... I missed you around the castle today..."

"Yes, highness we had our training today, or we would have been there to help you get dressed... you look gorgeous." Ana smiled.

"Who is ready to dance the night away?" Ester smiled at the women around her.

"All of us!" Annalise smiled and pulled Ester by the arm towards the dance floor.

After a while of dancing Ruby turned to Annalise with a smile "We met the prince and honest to God, he is very handsome. Are you excited to meet him?" she smiled wide with heart-shaped eyes.
