Her name is Lance, she tells me. Lance is a pink piñata, with Valentine's Day type decoration. She is rather short, with a small nose, and small legs. She hops onto my bed, and looks out the window. The night is clear. She asks a few questions. "So, What happens now?" "Your fur kind of... sheds. It's hard to describe. Basically, imagine like dead skin falling off and replacing itself." "Well, what about eating?" "You just turn more kids into piñatas, or you have to occasionally murder one in order to stay alive." "Pardon?" "You murder children to survive. Your limbs move of their own accord, so it's not like it's your fault." "Not my fault? It's like saying just because you were drunk, murdering someone was your fault!" "You don't understand. The limbs move without you telling them to." "Alright. Got it." She clearly did not, but I let it slide. It was inevitable. We waited out the last of the night, and headed out in the morning to another child's home. They were playing in the backyard, and Lance was following us. She got up, and approached the child. I waited for what would happen. A few dozen blows, then the sound of spilling. Yet another child, dead. For what? Life? To make another one immortal? What's the point of it when another child's life will be taken with it? I head over to the one next from it, and yet again, there is another child. I immediately regret my decision, as my legs carry me towards the child. They are around 12 in age, and are quite tall. I hand them a piece of candy, a kind of white piece, this time, like taffy. They eat it, and freeze. Their arms rotate in front of them, and they bend over. Their spine becoming like a stick, their mouth closing upon itself like it never even was there. Fibers, crossing across their lips. Bits of paper popping out of their skin like little springs. Their hair went into their skull, reappearing as more confetti on their scalp. Their eyes widened, getting wider. Their nose extended, far enough to where they could mostly only see it. Their arms extended into legs, and lost their joints, becoming rods. Their bones turned to paper mache, their eyes like gaping gaps in their face. Two blue dots extended from their eyes, and darted around, then stopped. In the exact center, they stopped. The neck extended upwards, becoming tall, like a crane. Their skin became covered in crimson red and some yellow. Their neck was long. It was around 3 feet long, in fact. Their neck was like a rod, steel in nature. Their legs, 4 in number, were long, and they were quite tall for a piñata. Quite. I left them to their own bidding, as it was an accident.
