I woke up with a start, bewilderedly looking around, not quite remembering where I was or who I was with and nearly screamed when my eyes landed on Lauren, who slept haphazardly thrown across the couch on the other side of the room. After I managed to calm my pulse down and I’d gathered by bearings, I stretched and climbed out of the bed, grabbing the fresh pair of jean shorts and a floral shirt that Lauren had grabbed last night. I went to the bathroom to do my daily hygiene (facial scrub, brushing my teeth, combing my hair, moisturizing, etc.) before getting dressed. I sat on the bed once again, yawning and turned on some cartoons. It wasn’t long before I heard a knock on the door.
“Who is it?” I asked, leaning my ear onto the door so I could hear before standing on my tip toes in order to look out the peephole.
“It’s me, Ally…” The smaller brunette stood awkwardly in the hallway, wringing her hands. She was still in her pink pajama slippers, but the rest of her outfit for the day was intact. She had on high waisted black shorts, a flowing tie-dye button down, with her hair down in ringlets.
I opened, the door, stepping into the hallway and cracking the door behind me, lest I wake the sleeping grenade.
“Hey,” I said after a beat, “how was your night?”
Ally sighs, “Tough. I talked to Troy all night. What he said was really bad, and I didn’t stick up for you like I should’ve.”
“It’s okay, I totally understand. He’s important to you, Ally. If you wanna bring me back, it’s alright. I had fun knowing you guys, and I have a family member now. I’ll be alright.” I shrug, trying to hide my fear and pain.
“Paige, no...I’m not bringing you back, I’m attached already. Like I said on UStream, you’re awesome, and I can’t wait to travel down this road with you and Troy and the girls.” She smiles hopefully, her eyes dancing with light.
I smile, “Really? With Troy?”
She nods eagerly, “He’s agreed to give it a try for my sake. Are you still up to meet him? Properly, this time?”
I have my doubts about this, and Ally senses it, “He’s nice, once you get to know him.” A concerned expression paints her face.
I nod, “I’m sure he is… I’ll come.”
She smiles once again, “Okay, I’ll come and get you around...1?”
“What time is it now?” I ask, my eyebrows working their way together in confusion.
She checks her phone, “It’s 11:45, you’re a late riser.”
I nod, “Yup, but I’ll see you then.”
“Okay.”
She goes back down the hall, and i go back inside the room, where Lauren is still asleep. Or so I thought.
“Good morning.” She mumbles, not moving from her previous position. She looks really uncomfortable.
“Hi Lolo.” I say eying her, sitting back on the bed to watch television.
"Was that Ally?" She asks, turning over to face me.
"Yes, it was... we're um, going out to lunch still. I guess we made up."
Lauren shrugs, "Good for you guys."
We sit in comfortable silence for a while, "I'm sorry I flew off the handle last night. I'm just a little over-protective."
I smile, "It's fine, I appreciate it. Nobody has ever bothered to stand up for me like that... Besides my extremely dedicated fans."
Lauren chuckles, "Consider me a dedicated fan."
"So...what else do you know about Troy, besides the fact that you think he's a douche?"
"Um... he's tall. He's a singer on YouTube, kinda like you, and he likes penguins. He's also kinda immature, and him and Ally are overly touchy."
"Touchy as in making out in public, or touchy as in like, creepy couple who's in the honeymoon stage touchy?"
"The second one."
"I guess that's not that bad, right? I think I would throw up if they made out in front of me."
Lauren laughs, finally getting out of her "thrown all over the place" position, "Ha, I would too."
I smirk, "Mhm, what about Brad??"
Lauren turns red, "What about Brad?"
"Twitter...? He's your BOYYYFRIIIEEENNNDDDD!"
She rolls her eyes, trying to hide a smile, "Grow up, short stuff."
"I am grown up, Lauren. Plus it isn't my fault he makes your heart beat like a sledgehammer." I giggle as she hurls a pillow at me, missing by, like half the room.
"I'm gonna hit you with a friggin sledgehammer if you don't shut up."
"Wait, you actually have one of those?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
Lauren rises from the couch, cackling mischeviously, "That is for me to know and for you to find out..."
