We arrived back at the house and Lauren immediately shoved me up the stairs, "Mom, Papi," she called over her shoulder, "I need the house tonight, can I use it? Only for a few hours."

"No problem, honey, we'll just go over to your tia's house." Mike responds, they were probably planning to do that anyways.

"Thanks mom!" She rushes me into the bedroom, and I can't help but take the opportunity to make a joke.

"Hey, mama, you don't have to rush me into the bedroom, I'll be glad to go without all the extra pushing and shoving."

"I see why Ally keeps you by her side, you're so inappropriate. You promise you'll stay up here and let me do my work downstairs?" She asks once she allows me to turn around.

"Yes, Lauren, I promise." I roll my eyes, pecking her adorable little nose, "I'll respond to Ally and Dinah who have been blowing me up."

"Works for me! See you in a few, okay?"

"Perhaps okay will be our always?"

"Perhaps." She giggles at my corny TFIOS reference. She turns to go back down the stairs and I sit down to check my messages.

I bypass the text messages and decide to call Normani. She picks up after it rings for a few."Hello?"

"Hey Mani!"

"Oh, hey, what's up Paigey?" Usually her voice is tinged with excitement and happiness when talking to me

"Not much, what's up with you? You called?" I ask, worry tinging my voice.

"Oh, nothing... you and Lauren?"

"Yeah, who told you?"

"Ally." She says simply, usually she's gushing over one of my crushes or whatever.

"You okay?"

"Why would you care, why don't you go ask Lauren if she's okay."

"Mani... you're not making any sense..." I' so confused by this point, "Are you okay?"

"No, I'm not!" SHe growls into the phone, "You're so oblivious!!"

"Can you not yell at me? I don't know what I did wrong?"

"You're gonna replace me. I already wasn't the first person to know about this.. And maybe I'm a little bit jealous. I already know you've waited a while for this and I don't want to see her make a stupid mistake and make you hurt."

"Normani... you're one of my best friends.. Can you just accept that it was unexpected and maybe I didn't want there to be any issues with Camila? Wait, what? Jealous?"

"Just a little..."

"For why?"

"You're my best friend, but like...."

My eyes widen when I realize what she's talking about, "Normani, no...No, I'm sorry, but no."

"It's fine, I understand..."

"Are you upset with me?"

"Not you, just the situation. And you've got to forgive me if we're not as close, okay? I just have to like process this. I'm so sorry." She rambles.

"This is my fault, no need to apologize. Just know that you're still my number 1 bestie, and that I will always put you first no matter what."

She giggles, "Okay best friend. No hard feelings?"

"I should be asking that, but none here. I love you, Mani!"
