Tris's POV

My eyes flutter open and what I see is a room that has gold floors, ceiling, and walls.  Gathered around me are familiar faces who have died for me: my mother, father, Will, who I shot, Lynn, and Marlene, who i didn't save because the others were too young to die.  "Am I dying?  Is it my time?" I ask.

My mom answers,"No, Beatrice, God doesn't want you to leave Tobias, your true love.  Go back and kill that traitor, David!"

The room disappears along with my friends, mother, and father.  I now see David glaring at my "dead" body.  I stand up.  David says something that sounds like "That's impossible."  He aims his gun at me and shoots.  I figure that I would feel the same stinging pain in my stomach, but I didn't.  I could not believe my eyes.  The bullet bounced off my body and into David's heart.  I say a silent prayer to Mom and then rush out of the room.

I see Caleb and he looks stunned.  He races over to me and hugs me tightly.  He whispers, "Thank God you're alive, Tris.  I guess I don't have to face your scary boyfriend."

I laugh. "You know, if you just spent time with him, you might like him.  Then you don't have to go into big brother mode.  And we're not finished yet.  Give me a gun."  He hands me one and I walk over to the room where David is.  I put the gun to his head and shoot him about five times just to make sure he's dead.  Then i go back to Caleb and we wait outside for Tobias.  I want to be the first person he sees when he comes back from giving memory serum to one of his parents.  I hope it's Evelyn.  I don't want to look at a loving father version of Marcus and then see a mean dad whipping Tobias with his belt.

After a while, Caleb asks me,"So...what happened in there?"

"Well," I answer,"I saw Mom and Dad. I think I went to heaven and saw them.  They looked happy, dressed in white, and they were in a room made of gold along with everyone who died for me."  I pause for a moment.  "She said that Tobias is my true love...that God wanted me to be with him."

Caleb thought about this for a moment.  "If that's true, then i guess I'll give him a chance....But if he touches you, he can be sure that he will get it."  I nod.  Just then, a car pulls up.  The door opens and I see him.  Tobias is here.  I run to him and he runs to me.  We embrace each other and he kisses me.  It is the most passionate kiss I have ever had.  His touch comforts me and it relieves me of all the guilt I had when seeing my parents and friends in the gold room.  He gets a glance at Caleb who has now walked up to us.

"I thought you were resetting the memory serum!" he shouts angrily.  I calm him down and tell him of the day's experiences.  He scolds me. "You could've died, Tris.  Didn't you think of me? How it would affect me?"

"Yes, I did." I assure him soothingly.  "I love you and i will never leave you. Come on, let's go."  I lead him inside so he can tell me about his day.
