I traced my name in the condensation that glistened upon the glass. I rubbed my moist finger on my hoody before gripping the warm cup. I swirled the tea around, not necessarily bothered to drink anymore of the sweet liquid. I found my leg tapping the leg of the table with anticipation. I eyed Nathan from across the room, receiving a cheeky wink once the sun glasses slid down his nose. His lips were hidden behind yesterday’s newspaper, his lean body dressed in black attire. When I said I didn't want him to be seen, I didn't mean he had to wear a disguise. I tapped my watch repeatedly acknowledging her lateness. She was never late, always early.

The chair scraped against the floor, causing my head to shoot up. I acknowledged the familiar face before slamming my cup to the table, causing the last of the tea to spill out over the lip.

'I thought I told you that I didn't want to be seen with you?' I whispered pushing the glasses back up the bridge of his nose.

'I thought you might like some company and anyway I don't think she's coming Frey' he replied back, sliding his warm hands over my icy cold hands.

My heart fluttered like a trapped bird being set free from its claustrophobic cage. I felt my cheeks heat up as my heart continued to flutter. I didn’t want to open my mouth again in case I said something weird. It was hard to describe the feeling, but it was one I’d never felt when with another boy. Obviously I’d had boyfriends and friends who happened to be boys before, but they never made me feel the way I felt with Nathan around. I shuffled around in my seat, coughing to break the awkward silence. I watched him attentively as his eyes darted around the café.

‘MUM!’ he called, his voice echoing around the now empty café.

Karen came rushing from the back, wiping her wet hands on her apron. She swept her hair back from her face before stopping dead in front of Nathan.

‘Nathan? What’s the matter?! Who died?’ she asked leaning on a chair as she attempted to catch her breath.

Nathan laughed as he took it all in.

‘Two teas please mum’ he smiled as she ushered off, mumbling something under her breath on her way off.

I was attracted to the warmth of his body as she resumed the seat beside me. The heat radiated off him, causing me to shove in closer towards him. His head titled in my direction and before I knew it his hand was around my shoulder, his head on mine, my head on his shoulder. It’s the little moments like this that you have to savour because you don’t know when they’ll come around again, especially when you’re best friends with an international superstar.

Jess began to sweep the floor slowly, sighing every so often at the boring task she had been handed. She held the brush tightly in her hands as her eyes met the new visiter at the café door. She let out a huge sigh before staring in our direction. Nathan’s eyes fluttered open, only to see Mollie staring down at him.

‘Aw isn’t this cosy, my ex-boyfriend and my best friend getting close behind my back. That’s exactly what I want to see, cheers guys’ she moaned.

I rubbed the sleep beginning to form in my tired eyes, trying to figure out if I was seeing things or if she actually was standing there in front of us. His hand gripped my waist, pulling me closer towards him.

‘So what I hear is correct, you two are getting it on? Just a word of warning for you Freya, lay one finger on my Nathan and you’ll be regretting every move. Nathan still loves me, isn’t that right Nath?’ she asked moving in closer to us.

He gulped down hard, as she placed her hands on his chest. She wrapped her legs tightly around his waist and before long his hands were no longer supporting me, instead they were supporting her back. She fiddled with his buttons, revealing his smooth chest. My mouth watered at the beautiful sight. She traced her fingers along his jawline, his body trembling under her touch. In all honesty as much as she was enjoying it, he was petrified. His face had turned pale and his mouth dry. He tried to break free of her grasp, but she kept resisting, instead pushing to the chair again.
