Chapter 28 (Benjamin's P.O.V.)

I got out of bed at about 8:25 am, and decided to grab a shower to help me wake up. After getting dressed in a casual collared shirt and jeans, I grabbed my phone on the way over to my kitchen, or lack there of. I unlocked it and saw a text from Shay.

S- Morning Sunshine! :) I'll see you later. Can't wait for you to meet the rest of the family (I know they'll love you, you will be like the brother they never had). Have a great morning, BFF ;) 8:30 am

So I texted back,

B- Good morning to you too :) I can't wait either. Have a great morning, see you soon. :) 8:50 am

After tossing my phone on the counter I grabbed a bowl and put some cereal and milk in and made my way to the couch. The first thing that greeted me on the T.V. was,

"Yet another wreck on 194. This one claiming the lives of two teenage sweethearts..." and that was all I heard before flipping to the national business news station. After hearing the DOW and some of the stock numbers I made my way over to my computer and reinvested some of my money, knowing that it was the perfect move and would make quite a bit of money. Then it hit me...Shay's birthday is in two days!

What am I going to get her? I thought. Think. I told myself. What does she like? Then it hit me. I know exactly what I'll get her...and she will love it!...I hope...

After beginning the process of acquiring her gift I checked the time, 11:47 am. Then I went to check my phone and saw one new text,

S- Benjamin, it's your mother. We have reservations at Zesi at 12:30. Please try to be punctual. Love you honey, see you soon. 11:02 am

Grabbing my keys and coat, I texted my mom back,

B- Leaving now, be there in a bit. 11:50 am
