"I can't believe I let you talk me into this." I said to Shay with a smile.
"Oh, come on. It'll be fun, you'll love it. Trust me." was her cocky response, making me smile even bigger.
"Okay, this is how you play......
And before I knew it, we were creeping throughout the local grocery store, acting as secret agents. I know it seems dumb, but I was having a great time.
"The suspect has been spotted." whispered Shay to her phone, with me on the other end. Upon saying this, the 'suspect', a lady in her thirty's turned and gave Shay a pointed glare. To which she replied,
"I've been spotted! Retreat, ABORT MISSION, ABORT MISSION!" She yelled as she ran down the aisle waving her arms, to meet me by the end cap, where I had been watching this all unfold.
"Come on." She said with a smile, grabbing my hand and pulling me along.
"Woah." I said as we ran down another aisle.
"Okay," she said, stopping and turning to look me. When she did that, our faces were just inches from each other.
"Yes?" I asked in a soft tone, not wanting to break the moment, because in that moment she was all that mattered, and we were the only ones in the world.
"Uh," she said distracted. Then seeming to snap out of her daze she smiled and said, "It's your turn now."
"Okay," I said snapping back into reality, "Who's the target?" I asked in a stealthy voice.
"Hmmm, him." Shay said pointing down the bread aisle at an older gentleman.
"Okay. Target acquired." I said, saluting my 'general'. "Back ASAP."
As I stalked down the aisle, humming my own theme song, I phoned Shay and said,
"Suspect is dressed in a tan jacket, and brown loafers."
"Roger, that." She responded. "We need information on his dietary habits. Find out, and report back." Shay said, trying to hold back a laugh.
"Well," I said coming closer to his shopping cart, and whispering now so he wouldn't notice me, "he likes expensive foods. French breads, wine, and stinky cheeses." I finished with a chuckle.
"Haha, now return to Headquarters before you're seen." Shay replied over the phone.
As I turned to leave I heard the man say,
"Benny? Is that you?"
