Being held prisoner was by no means uncomfortable, if anything Mo Yuan was resting well and being taken care of. It had not taken much to put an end to the small battle once he arrived because Mo Yuan was far too weak to fight, if anything he was the one who had sustained the worst of the injuries, and only because he took the full brunt of Guotins energy the second he arrived which was flaring down his blade.
And because he had not killed a single one of his soldiers, it was the only reason why Mo Yuan was still alive, but Guotin was furious regardless. The moment he arrived, it took only one look at the mans energy to know that he was in no fit state to fight, he was barely standing and though his soldiers were no match for the War God who was merely deflecting their swords, he was no match for Guotin and Mo Yuan knew it.
The moment Guotin entered the battle, Mo Yuan all but lay his sword down having weakened far too quickly. So for several minutes Guotin merely glared at the man while his options played out in his mind. He could so easily have killed him, but in the end, like Mo Yuan, he too was a righteous man. Mo Yuan was also the revered War God, someone he did not want the Celestials invading his lands to rescue or worse, avenge, But most of all, he wanted her. By killing Mo Yuan, he knew he would lose whatever chance he had with her, in fact, by keeping Mo Yuan alive and well looked after, was a means to winning her back.
It was afterall strategy and Mo Yuan knew it. And though he wasn't being allowed to leave, he was definitely much more comfortable than anyone would have thought possible. He had maids assigned to him, his medicine king took great care to heal him of his wounds, he ate well and though their energy was not high enough for Mo Yuan to cultivate from, he was given nothing to warrant discomfort, or any fear from her when she arrived, because he knew she would.
Now in his study with his advisors, a fully detailed report was given along with who may have been the ones assisting because there was no way Mo Yuan could have pulled off that off by himself.
"From what we could gather from our scouts outside of the main barrier, High God Zhe Yan was the one who removed her from the Palace but we are unsure as to who else was assisting My Lord. " His main adviser informed him.
"Zhe Yan...." Guotin seethed quietly under his breath. The man was a phoenix through and through he thought to himself. They were known to be mischievous birds and having had to put up with the man for the first two weeks of his marriage trial, he wouldn't have put it past him at all.
"Bai Zhi?" he suggested. After all, he was the other one who had tried his damnest to thwart their trial only to be met with a shake of his head.
"Not likely My Lord. Initial investigations have placed the Fox Emperor in the Mortal Realm where he is currently vacationing with his wife." he replied.
"I see..." he trailed off as his mind began to work furiously as to who would have had to necessary knowledge, power and reason to uplift her without being seen. And it was here that he realized it had to be someone they did not want him to know about, so possibly an ally or one that wanted an alliance which would have instantly been severed if it was someone who needed him rather than the other way around.
They also had to know her well enough to put it all at risk. Someone who would have known Mo Yuan and Zhe Yan, or at least Mo Yuan. And that narrowed his list down to just a few men. Ye Hua, The Skylord and Li Jing seeing as all three men knew her very well, and this was made evident at the leaders meeting where he had met her.
Automatically eliminating The Skylord seeing as the old man would never put a finger in danger, that had to leave Ye Hua or Li Jing. And from what he had seen, she had been very cosy with Li Jing, but he knew like everyone else, that the lavish attention she had given him at the meeting had been but a pretense, she had only gone to him in order to make a War God jealous.
