A Plan

Walking into the library, the look in Mo Yuans eyes would haunt Ye Hua for years to come.  He may not have known the man all that well, but the pain in his eyes almost felt like a physical assault.  The pain almost felt like his own, but then again, what he had done didn't even come close to the guilt he was feeling.

But Mo Yuan wasn't dwelling on blame but rather, on something else.

In his meditation cave, Mo Yuan had reflected heavily on the past, his mistakes and her while he waited for her return.  In his mind, he had planned out their wedding, their children and their future and never again would he allow the same mistakes.  He planned on taking her away for a long holiday and making up for all the lost years.  He was going to shower her with every ounce of love he possessed until the past was firmly put in its place and a future built on solid mutual affection, one that their children know and feel every second of their lives.

But when the final day came and went, his heart shattered into a thousand pieces.  And it was only then that he reflected on what she had actually said.  She had said at the end of the two weeks, she would walk away.  He had absolutely taken her word at face value without actually contemplating on the hidden meaning and for a War God, that was unforgiveable in itself.  He had made an irreversable mistake.  Had he caught the meaning, he knew without a doubt, that she would never have been allowed to walk out that door with that man.

But rather than get up and storm the Demon Lands and take her back by force, Mo Yuan once again allowed the tears to flow.  If she really didn't want to come back, then he was no longer going to stop her.  He had done everything he could think of to win her heart back to him, and though he knew she still loved him, that she had chosen that man over him, hurt far more than he thought it would.

Instead, he remained in his cave and cried until there were more tears to give her.  Several times, he had felt Die Feng at the entrance, he felt his searching energy sadly probing him, and he also felt the boys pain but to Mo Yuans unsettled mind, it came nowhere close to his own pain, but not wanting to share his grief, he instead strengthened his barrier to block him out.

And so for a time, he reflected heavily on why she chose to walk away and he knew now that he was not the only reason.  But what had his mind churning, was the kind of girl he knew her to be.  If she felt aggrieved by anything, she absolutely would have made her thoughts known, and if she felt she was being bullied, the retaliation was swift.  Losing her eyes the way she did, should have seen her storming the Celestial Heavens to get them back and he felt with absolute certainty that she would have only something Ye Hua had said had him wondering if there was something else that saw her not only create an army with the intention of turning it on them, but also walking away from himself for his own enemy.

Ye Hua had briefly mentioned the nursery he had been creating for her.  At the time, Mo Yuan had not seen anything untowards in this, as couples who were about to marry did have children on their minds, after all he himself had wrecked havoc on her own den to create a nursery for their children.  But that Ye Huas eyes had severely drooped at that part of the story had Mo Yuan considering one more possibility, one he had not thought of and now that he was, he slowly beginning to gain an understanding of her own reaction to the nursery he himself had been creating.

The level of anger she had thrown at him went above and beyond what he had expected.  Of course he had interrupted her marriage trial by forcing his way into her den, and he had expected her to be angry, but the initial outburst had bordered on insanity.  But what had his mind seriously considering one more option for her anger, was the near indifference to the nursery once the novelty of him being there wore off.  It was as if she had completely closed her mind down to it and him along with it, which in itself shown just how much of her mind had been affected and it would absolutely explain why she was now hell bent on bringing war to his own doorstep.
