Chapter 9
When saya woke that morning she noticed how her head was still on Grimmjow's shoulder and his arm was still around her. Glancing around to make sure no one else had seen this did she let out a sigh of relief, carefully pulling out of his embrace did she cover him back up with the blanket that he must of covered them with at some point in the night. It didn't even cross her mind that the one who covered them had been Stark who had woken only once more that night to check around the house and make sure that there was nothing lingering around. Because the sound of Saya screaming still echoed in the back of his mind.
He had seen that Grimmjow had decided to keep her close and a part of him was grateful, yet he also wouldn't tell them, or well he wouldn't tell Saya, he would explain to Grimmjow before saya had a chance to say anything. Moving away from the sofa she made sure to not step on Stark or Ulquiorra who had also moved closer some point during the night. Grabbing her bag she decided to not mention last night ever again and do her best to forget what the voice had said. Admit the truth....what the fuck did that voice mean? Admit what fuckin killed her mom? That wasn't happening, even thinking on it to long left her with chills running down her back.
However the 'find me' is what really baffled her, she had no idea what that meant. Shaking her head she grabbed her smokes and slipped out the back door for a much needed smoke. When she was done she would go in and cook breakfast for everyone. Then she would brush her hair, her teeth change and then head home so she could get back to work on her Novel, she told karin she would have it done before the week was up and she had 2 days left before the week even ended.
Lighting up her smoke she ran her nails through her hair and looked at the rising sun. As she watched the sun rise she felt most of the tension leave her shoulders as she exhaled the smoke from her lungs. Looking around she took in her surroundings and found that the area was actually peaceful, something she always enjoyed, deciding that later she would ask Nnoi if he knew of any houses in the area were for sale. Closing her eyes she listened to the way the birds chirped as they woke for the day, she listened to the sound of the wind as it blew through the leaves on the trees nearby, to the silence that seemed to be endless.
When she opened her eyes again, they widened in horror and she felt her throat close up, not even 5 feet from her was a figure, it was tall, roughly 5'10, it was wearing a cloak and staring straight at her. She trembled she tried to move but found herself petrified at the sight, that's when she saw its smile, and what a horrifying yet oddly comforting sight it was, almost like she had seen it before...but where? The teeth, were sharp and jagged, a sadistic smirk along the lips as spread even wider revealing even more, eyes widen with horror, she should have been afraid, yet she wasn't, for some reason she felt a pull, something she couldn't explain, was this....what her mother felt before her death?
The creature tilted its head, growling low in its throat before it pointed at her, Saya just stayed frozen to the spot, she didn't dare to move, in hopes she was hallucinating or that the creature would ignore her if it thought she didn't see it.
No such luck tho, the creature started to walk towards her and her heart sped up in her chest, finally breaking out of the petrifying trance she stood up and the creature stopped, tilting its head, only black eyes met grey ones. Pointing to itself then her it flashed its same horrifying smile then vanished. Almost like it had never been there.
And that's when it clicked. Saya never once felt any reitsu from it, she never even felt it arrive, so what the fuck had just happened? Where did it come from and why didn't it attack? Was it just a trick of her mind? She heard that nightmares could cause one to see things that weren't there but she never expected it to happen to herself, or maybe it was because she worked to much. Shaking her head she finished the smoke and put it out before heading back into the house to start on breakfast, she was oddly hungry and if she knew anything about this makeshift family was that they all (except her) had this huge appetite which always meant Saya needed to cook a lot which wasn't a problem, she enjoyed cooking for them and usually meant she never had to worry about leftovers.
Shaking her head once more to get rid of the unsettling feeling she finally settled on making pancakes, yet unbeknown to her that creature was still nearby, it had never left, it just hid in the shadows, and watched from a distance and sadistic smile on its face the entire time.
