Vacation in Hawaii: Chapter 26

3 months later

Greyson’s POV

It’s been two months since I proposed to Alice, and things have been crazy. We’re not just getting ready for the wedding but also for a baby, yup she’s pregnant. We’ve been getting the furniture out of one of the guest bedrooms, so we could get put the baby things in the room. Alice is three months pregnant and today we we’re going find out the gender of the baby. I was really hoping for a girl and Alice didn’t really care as long as it was healthy. I was driving us to the baby appointment and right now Alice was sleeping since she woke up with morning sickness at three in the morning.

I pulled up into the parking lot, and parked the car. I looked and saw that Alice woke up from her small nap.

“Hey. Had a nice nap?” I asked pushing some hair out of her face.

“Ya.” she nodded.

I turned off the car and got out and went over to her side of the car and opened the door for her. She got out and made grabby hands for me to carry her, I chuckled and grabbed her purse. I lifted her up and placed her on my hip, wrapping her legs around my waist and her arms around my chest. I closed the door and locked it, I walked us into the doctor’s office and signed us in. I sat us down and waited for about 20 minutes.

“Mr. and Mrs. Chance.” a nurse announced. I then stood up along with Alice still on my lap.

I followed her into a small room, she opened the door for us. I smiled and walked passed her. I placed her on the bed making her whine.

“I’m right here sweetie.” I cooed standing in between her legs. I rubbed her legs as she rested her head on my chest.

“I’m tired, Grey.” she said.

“I know baby. Just wait.” I cooed rubbing her belly.

“Dr. Ardo will be with you shortly.” the nurse said.

“Dr. Ardo? As in Jacquelien Ardo or Elliesha Ardo?” Alice asked.

“Yes. Dr. Jacqueline Ardo.” the nurse assured. “You know her?” she asked Alice.

“Ya. She’s my cousin.” Alice said a little quietly.

“Family Problems?” the nurse asked more like a statement.

“That happened a long time ago.”

“Ahhh. Well good luck.” the nurse said and left.

A few minutes later the doctor walked in, Alice’s cousin.

“Hello. You must be Mr. and Mrs. Chance. I am Dr. Ardo and I will be doing your ultra sound today. It says that you are here to find out this is your third visit and you will be finding out the gender for your child.” she said looking at the folder still.

You could feel the awkward tension in the room between all three of us, but mostly between the two of them.

“Yes.” I answered.

“Well. Would you like to know if you have a baby boy or girl?” she finally looked at us.

“Yes.” I said.

“Ok. I’ll get everything ready. May I just ask Alice to lay down and pull up her shirt so her stomach is completely showing..” she said

“Alice?” the doctor rushed over and gave Alice a big hug. “I missed you so much.” she squealed still hugging her.

‘Help me’ Alice mouthed to me.

“I missed you too.” she fake squealed back.

“How are you? I can’t believe that you live here. It would be really great if we could spend time again.” Jacqueline said.

“Ya. I can’t though. I’m really busy with the baby and the wedding.” she fake smiled at her.

“You're engaged?!” she looked back at me then back at Alice. “Greyson. Chance. Wow.” she then looked down and held Alice’s left hand. “Is this the ring?! It’s beautiful.” she said looking at the ring.

“Ya. Can I see my baby?” Alice asked.

“Oh, ya. Sure. I’ll let you get ready while I get ready.” Jacqueline said getting the things ready.

“You want me to help you?” I asked Alice.

“Ya.” she answered.

“I’ll be right back. I ran out of plastic gloves.” Jacqueline said exiting the room.

“Why do I feel like you don’t like her?” I asked rubbing my thumbs on her stomach.

“Because I don’t.” she answered moving her hair back.

“Why?” I asked.

“Can we talk about this later? When were at home?” she asked.

“Sure.” I said kissing the top of her head. The door opened and Jacqueline came back with a box of .plastic gloves.

“Ok let’s get started.” she said setting up the ultra sound up.

Alice laid down rising up the shirt up so her stomach was showing.

“So when are you expecting?” she asked putting the gloves on and turning the machine on.

“In February of next year.” Alice answered.

“Oh Valentine’s Day baby. Well what can I expect from a couple who loves each other so much.” Jacqueline said.

“That’s what Chasen said. Right babe?” I asked. I earned a smack on the arm.

“Ya.” Alice answered.

“I’m gonna put this on your stomach and the remote. It’s gonna be cold just warning you.” Jacqueline said. She put the gel on Alice’s stomach and then on the remote. She put it on Alice’s stomach rubbing it a little while looking at the screen. “Alright let’s see.” she said. All of us looking at the monitor. “Well from the looks of it. You are having both a girl and a boy.” she cheered.

“Twines?” Alice asked bombarded with this information.

“Twines.” Jacqueline confirmed.

“Twines.” I cheered. I kissed Alice with a lot of passion. I pulled away and kissed the stomach.

“Ok. I’ll let you get ready, and then you are free to go.” Jacqueline said.

She then left the room leaving Alice and I. I grabbed a few paper towels from the dispenser that was over the sink. I went back over and wiped the gel off of her stomach.

“I’m so happy were having twins.” I said cheerfully.

I used the last paper towel to wipe off any extra gel, I then grabbed all the paper towels and threw it away in the small trash can. I walked over to her and she was pulling down her shirt.

“You must be tired aren’t you.”

“Well I’m carrying two of your children so suck it up.” she sassed.

“Alright, alright. Let’s go and get some food. I can tell you're hungry.” I said as we were walking out of the building.

“You know me so well.” she said making me laugh.
