22- Murderous Glare

"Sofia?" no I must be hallucinating.

She can't be here, Sofia Dean lives in Florida. I haven't talked to her since I came here, now she seems to be standing here in California right in front of me.

She grinned from ear to ear and I knew she was real. We both took steps towards each other and embraced each other.

Ash and Ryder were looking at us from the counter. They came over to stand beside both my sides, Ryder tapped me on the shoulder.

"You a lesbo rose? I always wanted a gay best friend." Ryder said I could basically hear him smirking.

I broke away from Sofia. She was at least 4 inches shorter than me with hair that seems like a golden-ish brown (don't ask me its weird) with soft brown eyes, in short, beautiful and a ray of sunshine.

"What the fuck are you doing here Sof?" I asked her playfully ignoring both the goons on my sides.

She had a smile on her face but her eyes said a different story I could see she was scared.

The moment I saw this I turned serious. And grabbed both her arms

"Sof what is it?" I asked her suddenly alarmed.

"C-Can I talk to you alone for a minute?" she stuttered

I was about to say Sure but Ash grabbed my elbow, "we are a little late kitty."

"Aren't you gonna introduce us, Rose?" Ryder asked with a glint in his eyes completely ignoring Ash.

At this Ash grabbed both my and Ryder's elbows and started dragging us towards the door.

"Ash our orders!!!!" Ryder cried out and as if on cue the person behind the counter yelled "order for wet kitty" and went back towards the counter, laughing.

I stopped in my tracks and glared that Ash. He just shrugged, a smile full of amusement playing behind his lips.

"Rose I really need to talk to you!" she said in a strained voice.

"Wait Sof. First, tell me what are you doing here in Edgewood?"

"I have a cousin here, his parents passed away in a car accident almost a year ago. My parents couldn't convince him to come live with us, so they sent me here. I will enroll in Edgewood high and live with him." she explained.

"Oh I am so sorry Sof, but you are gonna be with me now," I said with sadness leaking through my voice.

"Are you talking about Mason Brook?" Ash asked suddenly.

"Mmhm, by the way, who the hell are you and why are you manhandling my best friend?" Sof asked suddenly.

I think we both noticed together that Ash still had hold of my arm cause the moment I jerked it out of his grasp, he let go.

"Sof this is Ash and Ash this is Sofia my best friend." both of them glared at each other.

Weird.

Ryder came skipping to us and came to a halt on Ash's other side.

"So are we going school or what?" he questioned taking a long sip from my latte before passing it to Ash who also took a long sip of my latte and then passed it to me.

I glared at both of them in vain.

"Sof you wanna come with us to school?" I asked.

"I don't wanna be any trouble," she said looking away.

Oh, my ever so shy best friend.

"Are you kidding me? we are gonna love you-r company." Ryder said slinging his arm around her shoulders and moving her towards the door.

'Oooo' Dunkers said

I looked up at Ash. We both shared a knowing smirk before heading towards the car as well.

Ash had the keys so Sofia and Ryder were standing together by the car talking.
We reached them and Ryder had whole plans of sitting in the back seat with Sof but I jerked his arm and pushed him towards the passenger seat.

Come on I wanted to talk to Sofia. We had met after a long time, I wasn't going to let Ryder completely hog her.

The moment we all got in and Ryder was strapped in I jerked ahead and took one of the two blueberry bagels from the box he had just opened in his lap.

"Heyy! That's mine," he complained.

"Not anymore jerk. This is payback for my latte." both Sofia and Ash snickered.

I split the bagel in half and gave the other half to Sof and munched on my half with sips of my now half latte.

'ugh I hate it when you share our food,' Dunkers complained.

I do too, Dunkers, I do too.

I talked nonstop after that till we were in the school parking lot. I brought her up to everything in our school from my friends to my entering the team.

When we were in the school' s parking lot, I started to point out the directions of office to Sof but Ryder was faster, he quickly shut me up and said he would her to the office himself. Hmm, interesting.

And with that, they were off. I took my bag out of the car, slung it across my shoulder. Ash locked up the car and we both started towards the school.

The moment we opened the door and set foot inside the building, three bells rang indicating the start of the third period. It was now the second time I had bunked the first period. If my absence was noticed one more time my mom would be informed. I and Ash both had literature third period so we started in the direction of the same class, we were silent but the silence was surprisingly comfortable.

We entered the class, on the way here we had both ditched our bags in the lockers.
I was about to go sit next to the person who I sat with on the first day here. That had been the only seat empty that day, but ash stopped me midway. He took hold of the back of the hand and took me to his seat, he already had a partner but Ash glared at him.
I think he got the message cause the poor kid scrambled out if his seat and in a haste dropped many pages from his binder, he didn't even pick them up, just ran to my seat, well my old seat now I guess.

"Oh god you can't do that to people," I said sitting beside him anyway.

"Sure I can," Ash chuckled with amusement.

"Controlling much!" I muttered to myself. He Snickered.

I bent down from my chair and collected all the papers that the poor guy had dropped and passed them to my neighbor to pass it to that guy who was now across the room.

Everyone was already looking at me so it wasn't tough to pass the papers back to him, he looked at me gratefully before wincing, and everyone averted their eyes instantly as well looking at me from the corner of their eyes now.

I looked at Ash to see him glaring at them and the glare was so murderous that even I flinched in my seat.
