Sofia, we noticed had made a dash to the living room the moment I started yelling at mom.
She was sitting on the sofa and staring at the wall when we entered.
I handed my burner to her, indicating her to call dad.
My mom had reluctantly agreed to call dad and tell him about our little situation.
She took the burner phone from me, I had made her leave her phone in the parking lot, these things were super fucking traceable and sat on the sofa opposite to Sofia's, I sat next to Sofia.
She dialed a number both mom and I knew by heart and put it on speaker. Dad picked up instantly.
"Keeley!" he said his voice a mixture of relief and anger and love.
My mom was quiet for a moment before replying.
"Damien." my mom said back with sadness leaking from her tone.
"Thank the lords you are safe I had spent the whole month looking for you two. Where are you? What were you thinking? You should have at least informed me before changing your address. And how in the name of all that's holy and pure did you leave from under the nose of my guys?" my dad bombarded my mom with questions and his tone getting more and more relaxed and joking, the way he talks to his family with each question.
My mom chuckled.
Oh, they are so in love with each other and yet are idiots.
"Oh Damien I am my father's daughter after all," she said with all the sadness from her voice gone.
"Where are you both right now? And now that you are calling me from a burner I assume either you don't plan on telling me or you are hiding from someone else."
Before my mom could speak I snatched the phone out of her hand, "Dad we need help." she would have edited the help part. *mental facepalm*.
I told him the whole story patiently from us escaping to us reaching Edgewood with all the drama included. I hadn't told both my parents about Ash yet though.
"So Rosie tell me exactly what you need now?" he asked me still sticking to the stupid nickname he had adopted for me, I rolled my eyes.
"Well, first of all, a location change and no we are not coming to New York, don't even think about it, dad," I said before he could say anything.
"Just some different place right here in Edgewood. More secure."
"Second, send some men over here."
"Third can I please have your blue Porsche now?" sue me I am a sucker for that car.
"Yes, Yes and No," my dad said controlling his laughter.
"Please"
"No"
"Pretty please."
"No"
"Dad, don't you love me?" I asked with as much fake disappointment in my voice as I could.
"FINEEE now shut up. And I am sending Nate too," he said.
And I heard something in the background that sounded much like -I knew you love her more than me- if you haven't guessed already that's my dear brother.
"That asshat is listening through phone right?" I asked
"Yup!" my dad said and I heard a groan in the background.
"Bring back my headphones idiot or you will be sleeping in the backyard of whatever place dad decides to put us in."
"I won't."
