"He guilt-tripped you into it and you fell for it!" Nate exclaimed for what felt like the hundredth time, Ash grimaced once again. I think it was very clear he was talking about my brand new relationship with Ash

"Nate just shut up and deal with it," I said as my phone rang.

I checked the caller ID and gulped. Dad.

I flashed the phone at Nate. "What do I do? One of the men must have informed him."

Ash stiffened as well.

"Gosh we didn't even tell mom where we are going," I exclaimed.

"I think the bigger problem would be that why do we have Mr. Monkey head in the car with us," Nate said as I realized that the monkey head he was referring to was Ash.

"Pick it up," I was staring ahead, driving at a ridiculous speed.

"Oh no. This is all you, besides don't you always say he loves you more so go ahead answer it," he said moving my hand back to me.

"I am driving you idiot," I said back, anything to get out of this situation.

"Put it on speaker," he said flipping it back to me.

"Nate please."

"You are not using the please card, just pick up the damn phone," Nate snapped.

"Oh for god's sake," with that Ash took the phone out of my hand and accepted the call and put it on speaker.

"Hello?" my dad's voice resounded in the car.

"Hi, dad." Nate and I shared a guilty glance.

"Where are you two headed to?" he asked sounding suspicious, he hadn't asked about Ash yet, maybe he didn't know after all.

"Uhh, nowhere dad I-I just um wanted to uh...I - DRIVE THIS CAR," I yelled in the phone suddenly.

"Yes yes that's exactly what we are doing I wanted to test drive Nate's new car so we are testing it, don't worry we will be back in Edgewood in no time." I laughed nervously in the speaker. Damn it my dad was the only person I couldn't lie to. Otherwise, I am a really smooth talker. Colour was drained from both mine and Nate's face.

"With Ash Wright?" he questioned through the phone.

'Busted!' Dunkers laughed in my head. I cringed.

"Um, Ash Who? We don't know any Ash," I said nervously and both Ash and Nate rolled their eyes.

"Kids please say he is not with you and if he is then please say he is breathing and healthy, I am not in the mood for going up against Lucas Hogan. You both know this could mean a deadly gang war, don't you?" I could practically hear my dad's pacing as he worried about us.

"Oh he is better than healthy," Nate said double meaning filled in his voice. I smacked his shoulder.

"So he is with you!" my dad muttered. Crap.

"Yeah I am, sir," Ash said before we could stop him.

Nate smacked his forehead.

"Rose I thought you were the responsible one, what are you exactly up to?" my dad said ignoring.

"I am responsible as well," Nate muttered but did not protest.

"Dad calm down we are fine, we will talk to you later. I have some unfinished business to take care of." I said as I motioned Ash to hang up.

"We are going to be in heaps of trouble," Nate grumbled and stared ahead.

"Make yourself useful and get the tank filled," Nate said to Ash as he got out of the car.
