It's been three months here, and we have changed drastically from the day we first came, from who were basically novices who only knew the fact that they have the potential to display magick usage or even lesser, into apprentices in many basic spells and in the art of weaponry. Some even have already become adepts and experts in their chosen field of skills. Also, we've learned the basic lessons of magic weaponry, which is to materialize our specialty weapons as pictured in our mind. As Sir Palladion once said, that you can't rely on your magicks only, since they will be drawn out eventually and therefore, conventional yet magically-summoned weapons are always necessary.

"Now then, we should put this chemicals as the catalyst, and mix this potion with the herbs that you have gathered....."

Division B is now currently on the Alchemy class, making healing potions and salves using the herbs, learning how to use the apparatus properly, and even conducting research on brewing a new type of potion. Me and Farris are on the same table, as the partners rule has to do. Farris is more interested with the Alchemy subject than other subjects, as far as I know. He also good with magic enchanting, and quite an adept in both subjects. However, he isn't so good in the arcane arts, but he can handle swords well for close combat.

"You seem to be very expert in these things, Farris," I compliment him.

"You're also getting better on this, Jason"

"But your enthusiasm exceeds mine,"

"Are you flattering me?" he then chuckles quietly.

These 3 months has been nice, too nice. We've learned many things, but we've never actually used them in a fight or for other practical purposes beside in class. I wonder when we're going to use them properly, perhaps there will be a test for us? Wouldn't hurt to try asking it to Farris.

"By the way, have you wondered when we'll be allowed to use the magics?" I ask Farris

"To be honest, I don't know. Besides alchemy and enchanting things, we never truly used the magics in reality."

"Will there be some sort of test?"

"Maybe, but I'm not sure. Perhaps what you mean is a duel, where we face an opponent using all the skills that we learned while being remarked by the teachers."

"Can that really be done? There would be someone killed if we're not careful enough."

"Like I said, it is just an assumption. But hey, this is a magic school, perhaps victims that are hurt whether accidentally or intentionally can be healed? That's how a magic usually works, right?"

"Hmm, you've got a point. There never been heard a case of someone getting killed in the First Generation of Mages though."

"That's all I know, I'm not hiding anything," Farris chuckles again. He's only a bit older that me, but he seem to be more mature, or maybe he does know things more than I do.

The Alchemy class is now over, and the so are the classes for today. After tidying up the apparatus, me and Farris decided to go to the dorm first before we have our dinner. The sky is getting darker and the cold breeze starts to blow. It is already the evening in the middle of autumn. No wonder that the air is getting colder.

We finally reached our room in the dorm, and Farris decided to take a shower first while I go to my bed for a quick rest. As soon as I sit on the bed, I realize that there's something that wasn't there when I left the room this morning. A white envelope, designated to me, as the receiver square is filled with my name, without the name of the sender. Interesting.

I open the envelope to find a piece of note inside it. A note that says:

Gather in the main hall tonight. 10 p.m.

Once I've finished reading that note, it's magically burnt into ashes. The sender might not want anyone else beside the receiver to receive or read that note. Somehow, I know that I should keep this a secret, not even my partner, Farris to know about this.

Farris came out from the shower room and he seems to notices my shocked expression.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"Nothing, just realize that I forgot something in class just now," I reply. I'm not a good liar, but I hope this one pulls through.

"Oh, I see. Want to pick it up together after dinner?"

"No, thank you. I'm fine by myself. Besides, I also want to meet my friend after that," I reply with a smile. Hopefully, it'll reduce his suspicion.

"Oh. Okay then. Shower is empty now, you can go in," he continues

Whew, that's a close one. I then proceed to take a shower casually to reduce Farris's suspicions where possible. It seems that he doesn't receive the note, or he is actually good at hiding something. Once I finished, we together go straight to the canteen to have a dinner, looking casual just as if nothing ever happened. 3 hours left before the meeting, wonder what this meeting is all about.
