The night sky is getting darker and the wind is getting colder too. Me and Farris go separate ways after the dinner. Still about an hour early from the designated time of the meeting. I walked towards the main hall while wearing my jacket to stay warm during this cold night.
The main building where the hall is located is dark, with no lights turned on, seems no one left in there. Surprisingly, as I approach the door, I realize that it is slightly opened and not locked as if inviting someone in. Turns out that this invitation is not a prank after all.
The main hall is still empty, with no presence of anyone. I guess I am still too early. Better to check around the main hall to kill time. With only lights coming from the outside through the windows, this hall looks very gloomy and scary. It is just like a grave, or some kind of place to do magic ritual, as I seen on the books.
Around thirty minutes has passed since I came here. I decided to take a seat near the main door, which faced the podium upfront, while waiting for anyone else to come in. Tired, I've decided to rest my eyes for a bit. These days have been good, so good it is discomforting. As if I'm forgetting something important here. Suddenly, someone come through the main door.
It's Castille. We're on the same division, but we miss the chance to gather together during these months. Everyone is busy with their partners, tasks, assignments, or other things so bad, that we only able to come across with hi when met on the road.
"Oh, Jason. You got that note too?" Castille asks, while taking a seat beside me.
"Yes, that magic note right? You know something about this?"
"No, all I know that only some people receive that note. It is not open to everybody."
"What about the others?"
"Sorry, but I don't know," says Castille. I can't blame him though, as I also completely oblivious with this whole secret meeting.
"How's your doing Castille? You've been good?" I ask him, perhaps this is the good time to keep in touch after all these months.
"I'm good, though I get a bad partner. He is irresponsible, uncooperative, but his skills are good. I guess," replies Castille, with disappointed tone.
I think I should change the topics, wouldn't want to ruin the mood. Luckily, someone else come in and he definitely draws our attention. That's Roland and Richmond, which is a good news to hear that they're invited too.
"Hey, it's Jason and Castille. Good to see you here," Richmond greets us
"Master Jason and Master Castille, I should say," Roland interrupts.
We smiled a bit. It seems that no one changed. Everyone stills the same as we first came here. That's a relief for me, somehow.
"By the way, do any of you know what is this meeting is all about?" Castille asks
"Not a clue, but it seems Roland here knows something," Richmond replies while pointing to Roland. Our eyes are looking at Roland.
"Hmm, I don't know for sure. But it seems that this invitation is only for a group of people," Roland says
"That's what Castille said before. Anything else?" I ask him
"Group of people with a special characteristic or skill or hidden ability," Roland continues. Well, that's a good of information and interesting one too.
"I see. Special or unique trait, I should say. Can you be more specific?" Richmond continues to ask, looks inpatient.
"That's all I know of," Rolland finishes "But whatever that is, we're not the only one being invited."
