"It's been a long time since we have a spar together. Shall we do it today?"

"Wait till I finished with Connor first. After that, it is your turn. I'll promise it won't take long,"

"I swear it'll take longer than you think!"

"Connor, he's much stronger than you. I don't think you'll win, to be honest,"

Five months later since we were introduced to ASAC's spec ops and having serious lessons and trainings after that. They were really making us better than the others who are not in the spec ops. Much better that it seems we are a year more advanced than them.

We haven't meet much with each other lately, so during the preparation month before the second Examination, I've decided to use this as a sparring session with Farris, Connor, and Anto. Me myself, will not participate anymore in the Examination, but they all do.

Connor has been using his trademark magick pistols as his main weapon. Excels in long-range, but lacking defense in short-range. At distance, he's already shooting his magic bullets at me. I successfully either block or dodge them though, while simultaneously moving closer to him.

Once I'm already close enough, I pounce at him which make him startled a bit. With a single swipe with my sword, one of the guns is knocked off and fell to the ground. I send out an additional stroke on his other hand, which left him weaponless, "Yield," I command him.

"Grr," Connor clenches his teeth in anger and accepts his defeat, "You know, your accuracy is excellent, but I think you should have a dagger or a sword to intercept close combat," I advises him.

"Yeah, yeah," he moves to the side of the field, letting the next person who will be sparring with me. It is Farris' turn now. It's been a long time since I last sparred with him.

"Don't hold back on me, just because now you're a spec ops," he instructs me before we start.

"I hope you don't crack my ribs or anything today," I let out a brief chuckle. I see that he's still using his usual gladius.

The spar begins with Farris letting out his charging attack at me first. Using quick movements, I easily dodge that attack. Using my free hand, I materialize a dagger and place it near his neck.

"Tch, you're becoming way too good," Farris admits his defeat, "Using wind spell to boost up speed as usual,"

"Well no, I haven't used it actually," I shrugs, "It is consuming much magicks, so I just use it only when it is necessary,"

"For real?" he asks with surprised look on his face, "So, how you move so quickly like that?"

"Special exercise," I answer shortly with a small smile.

Well, it is. The spec ops are trained intensely by Sir Palladion and Lady Senna themselves. And the results are, now we have quicker reflexes, movements, and wits than the others who don't. I guess those are what makes us more superior than others. I used to worry that will cause a rift of jealousy between the other students, but it turned out I was wrong; most of them actually respect us. In some cases, some even volunteer to be our apprentices.

"Have you been prepared for the Examination next month?" I ask them while wiping my glasses from dusts.

"It's all the same. Why should we be prepared in anything? Just be careful not to hurt or being hurt. That's the basis," Connor speaks out of annoyance while laying on the grass

"I agree with him. The next examination, we'll be on our own without our partners. Even worse, there is no cloak spell as before. Bummer, I say," Anto adds. He's been more talkative than before. Perhaps some months with Connor will turn someone to be talkative.
