I'm not sure what Ronno meant by people from Vinco Island coming here to continue whatever they're doing, but it was enough to have me spooked. I was walking to the alpha's house, ready to speak to Amell finally and get out of here.
"It might take months, even years! Who knows?! Maybe tomorrow!" Ronno's overly hysterical voice rang through my mind.
Another institute, different from all the rest on an island. I'd say Ronno was lying, but the serum made sure he wasn't which is even scarier.
I entered Amell's house, greeting the wolves inside before making my way up to his office quickly. I lifted my hand to knock on his door but it opened before I could, the one face that could calm any storm within me was on the other side.
"Elias," I breathed out. His smile was small but handsome and he moved to the side to let me pass. He seemed happy though I didn't know why.
"I'll see you in a bit." He muttered, leaving me with Amell. I looked after his retreating figure a little taken back by his appearance and odd departure.
"Athena, please come in."
I didn't hesitate and went inside sitting directly across from Amell at his desk. He looked tired and irritable but that was no concern of mine.
"I believe we need to discuss this alliance further?" I questioned. He only waved my words away.
"Unnecessary. I got your back if you have mine, it's a done deal. Email me the schematics of your land and properties when you get the chance. I will do the same." He said nonchalantly.
"Okay?"
"I'd much rather discuss the evaluation, how did it go? I would have been there myself but I had to take care of some things."
I told Amell everything and I think I almost triggered a shift in doing so which would have been bad for me. During my time here, I don't think I've ever seen him so angry.
"You're sure he wasn't lying?" He asked.
I nodded, "Positive."
He leaned back in his chair, shaking his head. "So what, we sit and wait for these... island people to come and hurt us, kill us?" I shot him a sympathetic look. I know he has a mate to protect as well as his pack, I'm just as scared.
"I don't know Amell. All I know is that whatever these people may or may not have up their sleeves it's going to start with the aeteri." I told him.
"Then, the wolves." He whispered, running a hand down his face. "What could possibly do such a thing? Something that is able to eliminate supernaturals? Is that even possible?"
I shrugged, "Maybe. It can't be easy, a lot of science needs to go into it I'm sure. So I will make the assumption that it will take time."
"That's one hell of an assumption kid."
Tell me about it.
"I know, but we'll have to count on it for now. Somehow, we'll need to be more careful when it comes to the RA's. They are now a threat to us all." I say, thinking about how this will change things.
I have so many thoughts and theories, too many that need to be answered and I know exactly who can lead me in the right direction to get what I need. He knows so much and has friends in odd places so I'm sure he knows something.
"Amell, when's the last time you've spoken to Xavier?"
"We're leaving," I say as I walk into the guest house, my team both startled and confused. I took notice of Ariana's presence in the living room next to Kevin, their hands linked together. "You're still coming, correct?" Ariana nodded.
