"Okay, so when we find Xenna and the telepath, do we thank them, or do we curse them out for putting us through this shit?" Erin asked sarcastically, trying to lighten the mood. I smiled at her and shook my head, amused.

We continued walking along the rocky edges, Erin walking behind Vivien and in front of me while carrying the case that held the bombs. We were almost at the end of the cave, I can see the lights to the inside of the institute up ahead.

"When we free everyone, you can have a lengthy conversation with them on the way back home," I say, causing them to go quiet knowing I won't be going back with them. "Curse them out first," I say after a few minutes and both of them chuckled.

When we got to the end of the cave, we crouched down behind some rocks near the entrance. The walk took us about ten minutes, meaning we have twenty left to get disable their security.

"Okay Erin, you ready?" I asked.

Erin opened the case with the bombs, each of them no bigger than a soccer ball. She split with her multiples, only three others like her making four total.

"Erin, you're with me, your multiples will plant, and Vivien you will head up to the top level. Once the cells open, start directing the aeteri down here. The others should be here shortly after they're freed, okay?"

"Wait," Erin said. "I can go with one of my multiples and I'll separate from her at the stairwell opposite the end of Vivien. I'll go to the top-level as well. Better to evade RA's that way and make sure at least one of us will make it up. Just in case. I'm sure you can handle yourself." She smirked and I rolled my eyes at her. Of course, I can handle myself.

"You're sure you studied the blueprints of this place? You know exactly where you're going?" I asked her, concerned.

"Yes, Athena. I promise," She smiled.

I looked at the two of them. Happy to have had them in my life. I can't believe this is the last time I'll ever see them. I pulled both of them in for a hug, giving it a few seconds before letting go.

"When I'm gone, take care of them. Especially you, trouble maker." I ruffled Erin's hair but she didn't push me away this time, she only laughed.

"Right, I'm the trouble maker. Tell us, how did we get to this point again?" She joked, my jaw dropped and we all had a good laugh but the moment couldn't last forever and we knew it.

"Seriously, I love you guys," I tell them.

Finally, we separated.

Get to security, disable the island's defenses, and then go and cut off the charge to the second generator. It'll be easy, I hope.

I walked towards security making the appropriate turns and going through the right doors based on my memory of the blueprints. Using my enhanced senses, I kept my ears open for any distant footsteps or voices. Other than the occasional doors opening I heard nothing else. I was faintly receiving emotions from others that were in the building, but they weren't close in proximity to me which is good news. That means that I am going in the right direction. No facility would ever place a security room anywhere near prisoners.

When I finally made it, I saw that there was a code to get in. A code I didn't know.

Before I could signal the others through comms, the doorknob started to move. My eyes widened and I ran at an inhuman speed around the next corner, peeking around. Three RA's stepped out of the room laughing about something.

"Yeah, he's a feisty one. Took down three of my men. He's been in the den the last few days, but he is gonna be in there until we put our plan into motion." One of them said. Is he talking about the plan to end the supernatural?
