As Elias and I walked hand and hand on the path that led up to the pack house, I can barely contain the sudden surge of energy that coursed through my vains. I'm ready to lead, I'm ready to fight.

The emotions that have spent years deep inside of me were stirring and ready to be let out. My mind felt clear, absent of any presence that may of been there which is how I know it's time. I can feel that Xenna and the telepath have done their part. The rest is up to us.

Once the pack house came into view, my team and some wolves stood outside, dreary and discouraged due to me and Rowan's lack of proper leadership and our argument earlier no doubt.

It was Erin who noticed us first, looking confused before smiling widely and running over to us which caused attention from everyone else.

While most of them looked relieved, a lot of the wolves started to growl and before I knew it, Rowan stormed outside, stomping her way towards Elias and I.

Apparently her speed was not enough because without warning she suddenly stood right in front of me glaring harshly.

"How dare you-"

I held my hand up, cutting her off.

"This whole time, we based our decisions off of what you want, but it's my turn to speak," I say with confidence. "I know what to do when it comes to my team and how to lead them in these kinds of circumstances. Yes, mistakes were made and things happened, but in order to right these wrongs, I need my team and Elias is part of that team. He kept a secret to protect me, but we have come to an understanding."

"I don't trust him... or you, Athena." She seethed angrily.

"I'm not expecting to be besties Rowan, but from one aeteri to another, we know what has to be done to get our people back. Don't be ignorant. We need to work together. Don't let our mistakes define our ability to fight." I say, hoping she wouldn't waste anymore time on this matter.

For a few seconds she clenched her fists and gritted her teeth before suddenly, she sighed and shook her head in what I assume is acceptance.

With slow steps, she made her way up to Elias mere inches from his face, looking at him intensely. "You were a mentor of the institute, one of the many people I despised. You've kidnapped, and followed Randon-"

"I never wanted to be a part of his cause. I was young and stupid, but I never thought myself above anyone. I always knew it was wrong-"

"I was not finished." Rowan stated, giving him one last once over. "I have misjudged you. You clearly care for the aeteri, I just never wanted to accept it, but I see you care for Athena a lot more."

Elias's jaw clenched, and he looked down in guilt while my face felt warm.

"I am willing to give you another chance... both of you." She looked to me and then him in understanding which is a total surprise to the both of us.

"But..." She continued, "During my time as a mother, a mate and a luna, I know the extreme lengths one is willing to go when someone they love is in danger. Even I have my doubts about Alec and our pack helping. Will you be able to complete this mission even if it means potentially losing one another?" She asked.

The question was aimed more towards Elias, I can tell and while I nodded with strong determination Elias was more hesitant. He is a strong man and has been through what others can only imagine, things I have yet to know but after a few minutes, he stood straight looking right into Rowan's eyes and gave his answer.

"I am willing to do what's right." He stated proudly which made me smile.

Rowan pressed her lips together, nodding at Elias before turning her attention to me.
