☆Chapter 19☆

~Annabelle's Pov~

As soon as I got home my dad started questioning me about William.

"What the hell were you doing with Subject One?"Asked my dad,angry at the fact of who I was with.

"Nothing!I didn't do anything.I just had a coffee with him,since we happened to be at the same coffee shop."I replied with a voice blank of any emotion.

"The hell you just happened to be at the same coffee shop with him.I know he was waiting for you at the school's gates!" My dad shouted.

When I heard him say that my eyes widened in realization that they apparently had someone following my every step out of the house.

"Now tell me again, what were you doing with him?"My dad asked again, with his patience wearing thin.

"I'm telling you the truth, we didn't do anything.He just happened to come to school to meet a few of his friends and then as I was getting out of school I met him.He invited me for coffee and that's it."I was the one shouting this time.

"What friends?"He asked suddenly.

'Damn it,I shouldn't have said that.'

"I don't know,he didn't tell me and I didn't ask."I replied starting to get a bit irritated at all these questions.

"Go to your room and stay there!"My dad said and I was glad he didn't ask me further.

I've been living in fear and kinda in hiding for years.

I have a secret that no one is supposed to know,unless they went through the same thing I did.

All this madness with kidnapping kids and then injecting them with the serum created by the Hybrid's blood, started with me.

When I was younger, I was involved into a car crash that got my mom killed and I was in a coma for years.

My dad being the scientist he is,tried everything to make me wake up,but nothing worked until he came across some datas from an old friend of his and discovered about William or how they call him,Subject One or just One.

He worked for months trying to get the right formula to make the serum work and when they actually had a breakthrough, I was the first person that received the injection.

I was able to survive and woke up from my coma,only to find out that I wasn't me anymore.

I had powers that at first I couldn't control,until I was trained by my dad and with time I learned to control them.

Years after,I happened to eavesdrop on a conversation my dad was having with his colleagues and I overheard them talking about other kids with powers just like me.

I was intrigued and when they all left for work,I sneaked into my dad's office and read all the research he had on each and every kid and about all the experiments he was doing on them.

What I read shocked me and made me feel so afraid of my own dad,but even then I just couldn't stop myself and I ended up making copies of each and every file that was there together with the pictures of the kids.

That's when I saw William's file as well and when I met him,I knew exactly who he was,I just never guessed he'd be my mate.

~Hours later~

It was almost midnight when I went out on the rooftop of my house and decided to wait for William.
